Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, another powerful Chicago-based political figure associated with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and other long-time associates of Democratic Party presidential candidate Barack Obama, is leaving no doubt about what he thinks of the leader in the campaign for the White House.

this has nothing to do with race...if Colon Powell would have run I would have voted for him no matter who was running against him...I can not understand how people turn this into race...the man is muslim...and when backed against a wall he will stand with his religion...not the American people which you and I are black white pink or blue...

I'm not a big fan of liberal politics but I think that alone sums up what Obama is, not a Messiah, not a radical fundamentalist, not plotting in secrecy until he comes to power. I think his only secret is that he used to be Steve Urkel.

You have no evidence, you are simply following some misguide emotion. I am not voting for him because he is black, I am voting for him because He Is The Best Man For The Job, though God help him sort through the mess John Mc Cain and his Gang created. You of course assumed that the only reason I would vote for him is because he is black and that black people aren't able to think beyond our race. I was a Hilary supporter at first.

You know what the real problem in America is? We as a country need to collectively pull our heads of of our asses. Use the energy your putting into finger pointing and name calling to make change! We cannot all control who likes us. There's a crazy lady who lives down the road. She says all sorts of startlingly odd things about politics, religion and aliens. She frequently assails me in public and tells everyone she loves me and that I am her best friend. I beleive in being basically respectful of others so I usually quietly remove myself from her presence.

Now, I am not saying Farrakhan is a crazy...he is an extremist and likely dangerous. Like most extremists he does have a solid fact and a point or two floating around that are valid. The U.S. does turn a blind eye to some clearly illegal and immoral acts committed by the state of Israel. Saying that does not make me a Jew hater.

Have you ever looked at what he has said or just at sound bites? Seriously, he makes a few legit points. I cannot support the man because I do beleive he is motivated by hate and because of his rather extreme points of view.

So, Farrakhan likes Obama and the crazy lady down the road likes me. If Obama feels like I do he likely isn't thrilled by that but again, you cannot control who likes you.

*edit* By the way...lots of us don't need and are not looking for the Messiah in every nook and cranny. Not on pieces of toast or pancakes or in the wood grain of a door. Some of us prefer reason and intelligence over blind and unreasonable faith.

I doubt that he meant that Obama IS the Messiah. I feel that he was using that analogy to say that he is the right leader.

It always get me how people throw words around without a clear understanding of the meaning or cultural background. The Bible is full of people who would fall under the definition a "messiah" or "messianic" figure.

Or they take one sentence and blow it out of proportion.

McCain blamed for hateful comments made by his supporters.

How in Gods name can anyone blame McCain for the political climate right now? The people of the United States have come to strongly dislike what our Federal government has become. Greed and Power, Greed and Power.

We the people know that our interest have been thrown aside by the very politicians we elected to represent us. The hate comes from abuse. We have let our government abuse us and those days are quickly coming to an end.

I have never witnessed as much anti government sentiment, in my life time, as I am currently hearing from co-workers, friends and family.

These politicians in Washington D.C. better step out of the bubble they are living in and check the way the wind is blowing. The average everyday American citizen is pissed and has just about had it.

There will be a cleaning of the House and Senate when those elections come around next. I would bet on it.

Average Americans don’t like socialist and communist and crazy leftist and war mongering rightist. We don’t want a Marxist for a president and McCain is the conservative choice by default.

If these are the “BEST” candidates that the two party systems have to offer then we as a country are in big trouble.

Why are americans so scared by the muslim relgion? It wasnt the relgion that attacked us, its was extremists that just happened to me muslim!! There Extreme muslims, extreme christians, extreme pagans,etc. There all Terriorists in my book!!
