Well, they do think most will believe the BS and most do as we have seen from the posts and the media... Even my son ran at the mouth today about Obama being a Muslim and yadda, yadda as well as going on about the bailout... I had to set him straight but he's over 18 and will do and think as he deems is right for him...

My child came home and told me this. One of the children in class asked the teacher if Obama was Muslim. The teacher said, "Obama claims to be a Christian, but he's (the teacher) not sure."

My child goes to a Lutheran school, btw.

I'm thinking about emailing the teacher about that one.bigsmile

Winx, do you think what the teacher said was wrong? he admitted he wasn't sure, the word "claims" is a little bent but other than that at least he didn't say he knew something he didn't and teach your son something that wasn't factual... .

Call me naive Red but I do think it was an accident.. Some Reps refer to him as Osama so I think it was an accident... The person who did it is probably fired, in a lot of trouble or if just a printing company then no longer used... I don't think anyone would jeapordize their job to make a statement like that... They have fixed the mistake...

That is true. The report I heard said they apologized for the error without saying what the error was. At first that upset me...but then in thinking about it. It was the best way to handle it.

My concern with the statement is that I really don't want my young kids being politically influenced by their teachers. I've had it come from both sides. I welcome the kids having the discussion without an obvious bias from the teacher. Unfortunately teachers are human and have a hard time not showing a bias.

My child picked up on it and it bothered them enough to talk about it when they got home. They word "claims" bothers me.

I see what you're saying. But...children look up to their teachers to know most things and I considered that as basic information.

I just told my child that it seems like the teacher didn't know a lot about Obama.

I agree Tng, I think he answered the best he could of course showing his bias but I think that as long as a teacher doesn't tell our kids what they should think on that topic and some others, then they are doing the best they can to answer without saying "go home and ask your parents"... That would cause a breakdown of trust and respect I think... It really depends on how it's said and of course body language can tell you a lot...

They were in Religion class and discussing other religions.
When they discussed the Muslim religion, a child asked the teacher if Obama was Muslim.

You know what the real problem in America is? We as a country need to collectively pull our heads of of our asses. Use the energy your putting into finger pointing and name calling to make change! DO you honestly NOT think washington is laughing their jolly fat overfed asses off at us? This sides calling the other that, that side is saying this side is doing whatever.. The whole time they sit watching us like the roman emperers in the colliseum, while we go at each others throats their digging us a deeper hole. We're all Pawns til we make change!

Exactly! They keep you bickering over parties & religions to keep you from uniting against them! FOOLS

The words of the ever so militant America & Jew hating Farakhan...about his pal OBAMA...here comes sharia law... the lib god

Farrakhan on Obama: 'The Messiah is absolutely speaking'

'Barack has captured the youth,' will bring about 'universal change'

Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, another powerful Chicago-based political figure associated with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and other long-time associates of Democratic Party presidential candidate Barack Obama, is leaving no doubt about what he thinks of the leader in the campaign for the White House.

He says when Obama talks "the Messiah is absolutely speaking."

You can watch it for yourself on a newly posted YouTube video.

Why would you say something so ignorant? Even YOU don't believe we'd ever have sharia law. wth? And Farrakhan is an extremist who is not, as you say, a pal of Obama. So much hate.

It's a tough call for me. I truly like the man. It has been on my mind over the weekend, though.

Well my opinion may not mean much but I think he's just human like us and he's leaning right from the looks of what he said... But if we got on everyone for saying something wrong then no one should speak... You know what I mean...

Farakan is a lunatic. Who really cares what he says?

He is not a factor in this election at all.

Some of the right wing folks are just trying too hard aren't they?

I have watched the rallies with McCain and he seems a bit horrified at the amount of prejudice hate in his crowds.

Too bad Americans cannot let go of their hatred. Seems from the rallies that the hatefilled prejudice folks support McCain because he is white.noway frustrated

I have to pick the bones on this one. A Teachers job is to deal with fact and every fact says that Obama is a Christian. The only people who keep saying otherwise have an agenda to make Obama into an extremist terrorist figure who shuns Jesus christ and his beloved United States.

I mean really!?!?! Did we not see his Christian Rev. Going bat **** on every news network for weeks on end?

Look i have no love for religion. Black Reverends, Muslim Clerics, Pat Robertson, Catholic Priest... you would think after all the **** we have seen from these leaders of religion people would go back to praying in the privacy of their own home frustrated

anyway i am offtopic

The correct answer to the question from the child is No, he is not a Muslim. Next thing you know the teacher will say "mathematicians claim 2 + 2 = 4 but I'm not sure".

uhggg some one get me an asprin
