Intimacy has different levels, many of us seek different levels than others, that is where the confusion starts. Intimacy does not mean marriage. We all NEED some form of intimacy, to help keep us sane. OR, is it just ME?????

Being over 50, brings in so many problems with intimacy. Committments get all tied in in legal BS, I preferr to stay single & hope the lady does to.

Being over 50, brings in so many problems with intimacy. Committments get all tied in in legal BS, I preferr to stay single & hope the lady does to. Sage, there is no real reason to marry again... that is unless you knock me up.

intimacy...ummm...well...not sure i have ever experienced true intimacy...where all the parts fit together...including the heart... ... an unconditional giving coupled with the physical...i think they call that love...at this old age its still on my "to do" list... and not for lack of effort...but a one-sided connection doesn't get it... im wondering if perhaps some of us are just not meant to experience true intimacy in this lifetime... have any of you also not experienced shared love/true intimacy?

I miss all of it, but I especially miss the little intimacies that go with an exclusive, committed, lovingly intimate relationship. The knowing without the need for words, the comfortable feeling of an arm around my shoulders or a hand holding mine, falling asleep like spoons, a shoulder to rest my head on while watching a movie or listening to music, an ear to fill with my thoughts & dreams. Oh, yes. Yes, I do. I sure do miss all of it...

Lou & indi,well written. Spooning is a BIG favorite for me. a nice nite spooning, doesn't HAVE to include sex. Better if it does. Why Lord do I say things like that. Helping feed the pygmise again. It's worth it.
