nope they never really leave but you can forget them as long as you don't explore your past to much. and even then if you fall deeply in love with someone else and they destroy ur heart then you'll really find yourself wanting your first because first love is so pure.

My first was just a crush and a few kisses...but he was my first kiss and it does stay and stay. Nice memories but not apples to apples with the adult relationships since.

I agree with the majority here. Your first is the hardest to get over. My first serious relationship ended recently. Lasted almost 3 yrs which we were engaged a little over 1 yr and then out of no where she just said she didn't want to be with me anymore. It hurts like hell and sometimes you wish you could forget about them and what they did to you but like Chuck said, if they ever had your heart then they probably will never leave it or not for quite some time.

The feelings you "had" for them, the love that you had for them...that changes. Least for me it did. I love my ex....but in that friend way. I have no desire to be with her. I don't ache for her. Truth be told, I don't want anything to do with her. But I still care for her and wish her the best. My life has evolved from the time we split. We both changed, moved along and lead our own lives. I won't forget the times we had. We made some great memories together. But that was then....this is now and I have a new future.

Yes - they do I cant believe everyone says they dont once you fall in love again you just move on.

I truly believe your first is the hardest to get over. The memories last forever!! Why would you want to forget your first love?? I think its not that you are still IN love with them, its just that you have so many memories and they were your very first everything!!! I say treasure your memories and move on with your life You can hold things close to your heart without being IN love with someone.
