I have before...and will do so again...yup I know there is one born every minute...

It depends because most of the time they are spending the money on boose or drugs, I do not wish to be a contrbuting factor!!

Once while out of town on business I noticed a homeless man sitting on a park bench in the middle of the winter. He was dressed warm enough but I noticed he wasn't wearing any socks so I reached into my suitcase grabbed a pair of socks, walked over to him and handed him the socks and 10 bucks as well. He was happy and I seen him putting on the socks as I was driving off.

Another time a homeless man asked me for 2 dollars so he could buy some coffee and a snack cake. When I offered to walk in the store and buy it for him he became angry. Needless to say he didn't get squat.

I was talking with one guy.....yeah I bought him dinner and had him work for me doing cleanup....
he actually made more money with the govt. programs and hand outs than I did!!!
hell I thought of joining him, but its hard work holding up a sign all day in 100+ heat

Yep, and I will whenever I can, and I don't care how they spend the money. I would never make an assumption about their lot in life or presume to know their own 'needs' better than they do. If I helped someone make it through it another day, whatever that means to them, that's what matters most.

Well, I look at it this way. Everyone has gotten down on their luck for some reason or another, I know I have. And we've all gotten help or asked for help in one form or another. So I figure you never know when you will come across that one person that your "hand out" might just end up being and "hand up". Whether they use my money to help them self or not is up to them. But it's not for me to judge or decide.

I gave that $#!T up. One night....... One night.... 4 people hit us up in a span of 1 hour....



The same story, different areas of town, different people...


Now I see them walk up, I don't care if it is a semi cute chick to a dirty ol bum....... I am like "GTFO, I don't wanna hear that $#!T".


Oh yeah, and I have a friend who has a friend who's uncle does that for a living. Makes $280 a day.

I think they should work for their money.....like juggle or tap dance or something....anyone want to give me some free money???? I need a bottle!!

I used to work at an insurance agency on a really busy intersection. I swear this young guy sat there daily for over a year, and when people were sitting at the light, I think it made them uncomfortable so they'd give him money. I think he made more money than me! I wouldn't give anyone cash, but I'd sure offer to buy them something to eat. I used to volunteer at the Mission, and there are a lot of people who are homeless due to mental health issues, etc., and everybody is somebody's son/daughter. I have a lot of empathy for people down and out, but also am careful not to get scammed. Nice gesture, MBD, on the socks!

I used to until the guy I gave money to went into the store and used the money I gave him to buy alcohol

Also I saw a guy doing it and he walked off from the corner he was posted on and got into a brand new Cadillac

I help those I know that actually need help

NO cause over 60% of the one's in the streets are there cause they wanna be there
