Can Britain borrow him? I think this guy would put a stop to the "soft" options prisoners have in UK prisons, colour tv, a fully functional gym,a choice of meal e.g a menu catering for vegetarians, vegans, halal and kosher meals. Toilets built especially for Muslim men and to crown it all they get paid for stitching the mail bags for the post office. Prisons are so cushy in the UK that prisoners who are eligible for parole do not apply for it, and the latest scandal saw ex prisoners breaking into prisons because drugs was cheaper to buy inside the prison than it is on the streets !!! Unbelievable. They live better in your prisons than they do in their own homes!!

Sheriff Joe is known as the "toughest sheriff" in the country. Wither you agree with Sheriff Joe or not, you will always know where he stands. He has ICE upset with him because he enforces the immegration laws. The towns in Maricopa County at times get upset with him regarding jurisdiction issues. All criticism aside, Sheriff Joe despenses equal justice. People love him or hate him for that reason. Last fall Sheriff Joe showed a softer side when he made some campaign ads for an law that would tighten up animal curelty laws. He gets real upset when people abuse animals - from kittens to horses. He does allow inmates to listen to the radio. One station...the one he oversees.

I agree its great...I don't like the so called TRUSTEE's walking around town,in the parks & such free from the view of officers,I go after they are gone..wish they would adopt more of those ideals here and all around america..

But he's better than the bleeding-hearts here in L.A. and in San Francisco who won't dispense with any form of justice whatsoever.
There was recently the case in S.F. of the illegal immigrant meth dealer who CLAIMED he was underaged and was coerced into selling drugs to help his family. So he was not charged and was deported to his native country (Honduras). And guess what? Six weeks later, said illegal immigrant meth dealer was caught. Again. In S.F. AND he used the same "underaged and coerced into selling drugs" story he used the last time. SO they didn't charge him and sent him back to Honduras. People seem to forget that prison and incarceration are present for a reason, and it's NOT to be coddled by a bunch of hand-holders. You do the crime, you do the time... and that time shouldn't be a cakewalk, either. |

What is wrong with enforcing immigration laws? ICE thinks it is their job and Sheriff Joe has been accused of rational profiling. He always announces what area he is going to be targeting and some local merchants have asked him to come. |
