The story continues.
Gray Wolf - The Voice White death leaves us slowly Game reurns to our hunting ground My pack, my people grow strong again A sound of thunder in cloudless sky My sire falls, his blood flows free We scatter, two leg takes his pelt What is this thunder that kills Why take a pelt and leave flesh We have no leader, we have no guide Combat, rolling, biting, submission We have a new leader, and I wait Someday I shall lead, I shall guide Take my father's place, make pack mine Lead them in hunts, guide them My time is not yet come, my destiny I must wait for my time, my fate Yet in my dreams I hear a voice One not of the people, a two leg A gentle voice, a younglings voice She whispers to me, calls to me "Ma'iitsoh I do not fear you I am not afraid when you are near" I leave the pack, leave my family Search for this voice, this two leg To know why a two leg would speak Why a youngling fears me not Without the pack I hunt small game Hard to catch and not as filling I seek on, I must know this two leg Leaner I become, hunger kept at bay I think of the pack, I long for a hunt And the voice grows stronger, clearer Spring rains come to become summer heat When the voice of dreams calls loudest I climb a slope, in dark of night Arriving at mornings first light From a cliff I see the dens, not dens Two legs dens, I lay and wait The voice is loud here, I watch A youngling comes from a den My ears perk,I quiver like a cub This is the one, she speaks in dreams Rising I howl my greeting, Speak my name Acknowledge her as my destiny "I am Ma'iitsoh, I am Gray Wolf I am your destiny, I am your guide" I see her stop, searching for me She has heard me and knows me I howl my joy and turn, my pack awaits The line "I am not afraid when you are near." is taken from '-Gray Wolf Totem-' by CCP |

Many Seasons
I have spent many seasons of time with Shaman I grow stronger in my dreams and visions And I listen closely for his call every morning Not always does he call to me I catch glimpses of him swiftly running ahead of me As I take my many walks Always whispering the words that can only reach his ears "Ma'iitsoh I do not fear you I am not afraid when you are near" I long to stroke his silken fur Feeling his comfort spread through out my being But I know it is not our time yet Time has seemed to pass so quickly I was but a toddling child when the bundle first sang to me I am growing bigger and stronger each day I have learned to hunt from my father I have learned to heal from my mother I have learned to interpret my visions and dreams from Shaman My time is quickly approaching My body is growing and changing with each breath I take And as I change my fears grow I am so afraid that I will let my people down That I will fail That my destiny is not to be And I hear whispered calls on the wind I have spent many seasons of time with Shaman I grow stronger in my dreams and visions And I listen closely for his call every morning Not always does he call to me I catch glimpses of him swiftly running ahead of me As I take my many walks Always whispering the words that can only reach his ears "Ma'iitsoh I do not fear you I am not afraid when you are near" I long to stroke his silken fur Feeling his comfort spread through out my being But I know it is not our time yet Time has seemed to pass so quickly I was but a toddling child when the bundle first sang to me I am growing bigger and stronger each day I have learned to hunt from my father I have learned to heal from my mother I have learned to interpret my visions and dreams from Shaman My time is quickly approaching My body is growing and changing with each breath I take And as I change my fears grow I am so afraid that I will let my people down That I will fail That my destiny is not to be And I hear whispered calls on the wind "I am Ma'iitsoh, I am Gray Wolf I am your destiny, I am your guide" And I fear no more For I know Ma'iitsoh, Gray Wolf Is out there waiting for our destiny Guiding me on my way And I fear no more The lines"I am Ma'iitsoh, I am Gray Wolf I am your destiny, I am your guide" are taken from Karmafury's "Gray Wolf-Voice" and used with permission. |

Okay We finally continue. Thank you all for your patience.
Gray Wolf - Leader Summer green spent near her Colors change and the pack calls I hear them in my heart I must return home, return to my people I travel with little rest, little food I feel a need, an urgency Summer green to winter's death colors The land changes and I feel morning frost I hurry, I feel their need The land of my people is in sight I can hear them cry in the night It is a cry of hunger, of no prey I see my brothers, sisters and packmates Weakened from lack of prey, lack of meat As I near he who replaced my sire comes I have changed, grown, become stronger Become wiser and no longer fearful I stand pround before him, he growls I am no threat yet he feels challenged Ears lay back and bared fangs show I have faced my dangers on my trek Coyote could not stop me nor could snake Two legs with their thunder sticks Tried to stop me and I eluded them I accept the challenge issued We circle, lunge, bite, evade Twist, turn, leap and roll Teeth flash, jaws snap, I bleed My sight leaves as blood covers one eye He has left an ear on the ground He leaps to push me to ground Twisting my jaws snap on his throat Jaw meets jaw, fang meets fang He lies bleeding, he'll not rise I howl my victory, I howl my rise I howl to Dreamland that a Gray Wolf comes The pack howls, joining me, destiny approaches Now we must leave, death awaits us here Where there is no prey there can be no hunter I shall lead them to where there is prey Where they can be strong and proud I shall bring them to where she is To where I know the hunt is good Somewhere closer to my destiny I hear her calling, my time approaches We shall hunt and I shall watch Watch and protect the two legs That our destinies join and come to be |

The Prophecy Begins...
The time of winter is coming quickly A time of hunger for many My people are not to be hungry this time We have enough and more to spare I feel him now, even closer than before Watching me, protecting me Even from afar I feel his wounds, healing though they are He brings his pack to my lands So they too may know no hunger this winter My dreams are filled with the prophecy now I know I will not fail The bundle speaks often shouting To be heard and understood Gray Wolf, I hear you too Your words of encouragement Your words of guidance I carry on with my days The day of my leaving coming ever closer I prepare myself to leave And approach the Shaman's kiva My mother and father behind me Gray Wolf ahead..waiting For the prophecy to begin.... |
