A woman whose husband owned a produce junction not too far from where I live tried to take her own life and failed. Now this part is unbelievable. This happened about 20 years ago in Pennsylvania. At that time it was considered a crime to take your own life since it is murder of the self and murder is a crime.

In connection with the above, after the woman recovered from her failed suicide attempt, she was arrested and brought before the court. The judge put her on probabation where she had to report to a parole officer once a week. Additionally, she had to see a "shrink" to cure her mental issues that caused her to attempt suicide. Last but not least, the woman has a criminal record since she tried to murder her self.
I don't think that is a bad thing. Unstable people need to be kept from getting their hands on firearms, and that is one way to accomplish it. They also need to get help which in this case was also accomplished by the courts mandating it. Now every public serveant that deals with her knows she has a troubled past. SOrry, I have no issue with the way they used to handle it

You are absolutely right. I thought it was terrible that she was arrested, put on probation and has a criminal record, but the way you state things makes me realize that the court was correct.

A close friend threw a terrific New Years party, was the happiest host ever and we all had a blast. I stayed to help clean up and left around 3:30 am. He laid down in bed and shot himself in the head soon after I left. I'm still dumbfounded when I think about it. He had everything going for him...or so it seemed.

God. That is just awful unexplained sudden death
No one ever found out why he did it. And of course everyone thought I knew since I was the last one at his house. He never said a word and in fact seemed in a great mood.
most o the time a person who is going to commit suicide is extremely happy or calm right before hand. They say this is because they feel a weight has been lifted off their chest with the decision. One of the tell tale signs is this, and giving away ones belongings prior to the act

well I don't know if I am right honestly, I just don;t see a problem with it. I see it two ways, one is it pisses me off to no end that someone would be that selfish to take a gift like life away prematurely, the other is the guilt I feel for the families of the person, and how terrible one must feel to be that desperate to leave like that. It is a hard situation

Well, then I spose it does make sense...it just seemed strange that he seemed happy in his life for quite some time prior too. He loaned me his camera that night also. I gave it to his parents later. frown

People also are afraid to slip out of their manic self and back into the dark pit of depression. So they end up being at the very pinacle of mania. I read it in a pamphlet.

because ive done it, and seeing your reactions to people who you have lost, makes me feel guilty for doing it, but when your in that state of mind, nothing else matters, apart from you want to end the suffering.

im sorry to all, who have lost people they knew and loved.

ive had about 30 or more attempts. only one did i had to be resusicated and put me on a ventalor in itu for a week. they told my parents i had a 50/50 chance of living the next 2 hours after i stopped breathing. ive got depression, bpd, anxiety, impulsiveness blah blah the list goes on.

A friend of my boyfriends took her life when they were in high school. I never met her, but I feel like I know her because all my friends from that high school were close to her and spoke about her all the time. And I now know her older sister.

He told me I would be good friends with her if I knew her.
