Yeah, really awkward when it's said to me and I can't say it back. Ugh! That dreadfully long silence and the look in his eyes...praying for the sky to open and swallow me!!! oh yeah and then the stuttering that follows.. ok for me anyway... |

To state your love is a expression of your feelings towards another person. If the words are not returned to you, does it negate the original statement? If you are saying "I love you" with the hope or expectation of hearing it back perhaps you are expressing your need for love more than you are actually saying "I love you" "Love seeketh not its own" I fall in Love with a lot of people all the time, I don't say it, and I don't expect it to get returned. I'm always in Love though, it's Great !!! |

Yes once I did, when I was a freshman in high school. It was my first real crush I guess you could say, or at least the first one I really pursued. I was crazy about her for a while, until I saw a different side of her. Then I pretty much fell out of love with her as quickly as I fell in.

I once said "I love you" and got a "shut up" in return. But I was picking on her before hand.

Of the rare (do note 'rare') times I've said it (once, maybe twice) I have always recieved a reply of "I love you too". And of the many (do note 'many') times it has been said to me, I only said it back once. Love is not a word I throw around nor do I believe others should throw it around.

No I haven't when I have told anyone I have loved them it has always been returned in some cases it shouldn't have been because they really didn't. They just thought it was what I wanted to hear. I would have rather had the thank you than a lie~

I can say lov ya to friends anytime, but to say I LOVE YOU, never to be use lightly and never to be said w/o meeting and being with someone for some time to really know and feel that LOVE in my heart, and she must feel as me or I would still not let her here them from me....

Oh yeah but a swift smack against the head will make them say it real quick

Have you ever said I love you with no reply? How about hearing someone loved you but not replying? Talk about awkward moments. I can only imagine as it hasn't happened to me thankfully. Yes, yes, and it'll happen sooner or later. The one saying it is usually thinking, "I don't get it", and the one not responding is usually thinking, "exactly". |
