Sure, I did some cross-stitch when I was a kid, made a wall thing with a castle on it. Of course we didn't have a TV and Mom would get us doing just about anything to be quiet. I'd rather be out on a tractor discing a field, or possilbly scaling that down and just keeping my lawn looking nice.

That being said, I still prefer traditional gender rolls, from way back. Men go hunt, bring it home, build a big fire, stick that kill on a stick and cook. Women, do everything else. I read a study once that said the average stone age man spent only 20 hours a week working and on average 50 hours a week with his family. Man, how we have made our lives better with all this technology and gender disfusion.

However, being modern society, men should have no problems in the kitchen, laundry room, and should know how to work a vaccuum and mop. Short of that, we should be useless around the house and often told to "just go outside (or watch the game)."

I'm with you, I can't imagine hands as big as mine being able to crochet. Mend a fishing net, maybe...

I think most men are somewhat versatile in roles nowadays. In all three of my relationships my guy was competent in the kitchen and thought it was nice that I could help them roof the house.

However he's welcome to the hunting and I'd just as soon clear coat my own nails.

What if I was to use a loom and do some weaving of textiles as a whole so you could use them to sew with?

I own many power tools and love doing my own home projects... though it really irritates me when I don't have the upper body strength to do some things. I built a new flower bed and bent an 8 inch nail.. had to ask neighbor dude to get it out!!

Okay I can change my oil, tranny fluid, and do some carpentry work (blame my father he is a carpenter), I can change tires and cook, I can gut and scale a fish, and I hunt. And I know my way around all sorts of power tools. Oh and I can pull a calf -- mend fence and fix a tractor thats older than I am.

My ex couldn't pick up his own clothes or make the bed or cook or bake or crochet or choke up at a movie (in fact he would go out of his way to ruin any "girly pics we went to).

Now, I am dating a guy that says "I love you" (the ex only did this on my birthday - if I let him get some), cooks for himself, does his own laundry and basically will watch a chick flick with me. It's scary, but it makes me happy.

By the way, I have only asked him to watch one chick flick with me, I am more of an action girl.

I like my men sensitive when it comes to loving me. (AKA Misses me when I'm not around and tells me, tells me he loves me and he can't live without me, cuddles me, etc.) But otherwise I like my men pretty masculine.

I'm pretty much half and half. I love dressing pretty but I also like helping my boyfriend work on his car even though I don't know much about them yet, and I can build furniture without looking at the instructions like no body's business.

I like a man who is sensitive, to an extent, NO NANCY BOYS, but that goes for women too.

I like a man who can cook.

I like a man who treats his mother well.

As for needle point...uhm, NO

I like a man who is a man. We are different for a reason, and I love those differences, I embrace them. I will promise not to be the "MAN" in the relationship if he promieses not to be the "WOMAN"

So I liked hangin out with my Grandma and I can make a blanket from scratch...ggggggeeeeeessshhhh

I've taught my nephews how to use a sewing machine and they loved making their own quilts for their beds. Yeah, they chose camo fabric and sports themes to make them!

And my 40 year old manly neighbor is intrigued with quilting, so I taught him too...he finds the math and fine lines and patterns intriguing.

Well, I just came from hanging with Grandma, and we got to talking about all the different things she taught me to cook. She also showed me the proper way to iron shirts, but I'd never actually own an iron.

As far as sensitivity, I'm really good about telling someone I love them, have a harder time showing it.
