Tancredo was appointed by the President (Reagan) to be the regional representative in Denver for the Department of Education. He stayed on from 1981 until 1992, through the first Bush administration, and pared the office's staff from 225 to only 60 employees. In 1993, he became president of the Independence Institute, a conservative think tank based in Golden, Colorado, serving there until his election to Congress. He was also a leader in the Colorado term limits movement. Id say hes not ignorant about education We have our problems with hatemongers here too. That is why they duplicated already existing legislation to console the hatemongers about illegals. There has been no change to the welfare rolls since the legislation was instituted because there were not illegals receiving benfits. Tancredo is a fraud at that level. Bilingual is important in schools so he is an idiot on that level. |

Funny you mentioned the roofers in St. Louis. It is so true. I got a new roof and on the first rain it leaked. I blamed Labor Ready (no Hispanics though). My friends have complained that they hire a legit company and think there are legit workers on the roof. When they want to talk to somebody on the roof, they are surprised to find only Hispanics and nobody can speak English. And, yes, the roofs have leaked. I don't know if you know about this, Rob. My father told me he read it in the paper. St. Louis has allowed some kind of contract to hire people from Mexico to come here this spring and summer to perform yardwork. When the season is over, they are to go back to Mexico. I didn't realize that we had a shortage of people that wanted to work. The going rate for lawncutters around me is $25.00 per lawn. I was being sarcastic about a shortage of labor in St. Louis. I know the labor is there for lawncutting. I have a friend that owns a good roofing company and he has been telling me about the problems. Maybe you have heard of him, Heritage Roofing. |

i do understand why they come here and do think the employers should be punished more...but again..they choose to come here and work without benefits etc for low pay. because they make so little...they do not pay for medical or taxes for schools etc. they get paid in cash and they to say they pay in cash to avoid debt is crazy. they don't earn enough with expenses here and sending money back to pay for the big things. maybe they pay more up there or something...but not here.

I needed to know other languages on my job and did not have them, if someone would have pushed it in school I would have had at least one other language. We are a world community now, we are not so closed off from the rest of the world as in days gone by. I wish my kids would have also learned other languages. |

I agree Id punish the people that hire them and the ones who rent to them. Hard, and round up all the illegals, take the money from their pockets to pay for gas, and haul their arses to the border. Not out of hate, and to show it, Id kiss everyone of their hands as they stepped off the bus! |

I said that they live sparingly. They cohabitate to save money and eat together to save money and they use cash so they do not acquire debt in the form of credit. I did not say they try to avoid debt by getting paid in cash. They get paid in cash, period. That means no credit history. So no credit. I will not participate in the hate fest if that is why you are arguing with yourself, so it is a dead point, if that is where you are going. |

I've misunderstood yours before too. |

I have many Hispanic friends. Graduated HS in southern NM 70 miles from the border. Back then we didn't have an illegal problem. Not even there, of course they used to enforce the laws and there weren't near as many bleeding hearts trying to give away their country. |

lmao...i love being accused of arguing with myself when she answers back
they live together because they can't afford otherwise on their wages. how would they get credit being illegals???? again how do you bill someone who is illegal???? i have many hispanic friends and neighbors as well. my new little cousin is 1/2 hispanic and i love her and her dad and dad's family. they are here legally or citizens. everyone i know is disgusted with the taxes for education and medical. i know it's hard in their country but why should we have to pay in our taxes????? we have people we end up paying for here that are citizens |
