that's kinda like if you own a mobile home and fart in it, can your neighbor hear it even if they don't see you............

No, you can't have sound without an audio detector of some sort...now if you placed a micorphone in the forest there would be a sound recorded. But, who really wants to hear a tree fall in the forest? I would rather hear the breeze blowing its leaves in the wind and two heart beats pounding softly as I walk hand in hand along a trail with a good friend.

Do you believe in the "Big Bang Theory"? yes BIG BANG was actually a very quiet event. There is NO ATMOSPHERE in outer space therefore it happened in complete silence.

A'sound' is only an invisible viberation or shock wave that is picked up by an ear drum and interpited by our brain, If there is no ear drum or brain 2 'hear' it, then there is no sound, the sound only exist inside the brain.

i betcha a worm would feel different about that......... A worm does feel, Viberations, When it rains the worms all come up, they can feel the rain hitting the ground, A type of bird even stomps its feet on the ground 2 trick worms into coming up.

oo... i like this... it is turning into a very educational forum huh?! only if someone learns something. Any sound is realy viberations moving theough the air, or walls, or rocks, like folks who put their ears 2 the ground 2 'hear' the posie coming, A deaf person cannot pick up these vibs.

Actually the ear is more like a receiver that picks up the sound, the sound is a vibration through the air.
