I had a job interview at 10:30 this morning, but my car wouldn't start, so I called to let them know I couldn't make it and see if we could reschedule the interview. Well, after a few hours I finally got my car to run, so I called them back to reschedule the interview, and see if I could still come in today, they said to come in at 1:30, so I made it there, ten minutes early just to be sure I would make it on time. HR interviewed me and explained briefly what the job was and everything, then I was interviewed by the department manager, and given a tour by the assisant manager(?). Everything seemed to go well, but now I'm kinda worried that maybe I didn't get them job. I wasn't nervous at all during the interviews, but afterwards I just got a feeling that maybe they're not going to call me.

I really hope I'm wrong.

I have interviewed hundreds of people over time.I do not let the idea of them being late interfere with my decision.

I had one where both of us kept cancelling..I thought I would never get the interview; much less the job. I finally interviewed and they called me the same week.

I really hope I get the job. There is tons of OT, paid holidays, three paid personal days, and vactions, health and disability as well and a 401K right at startup (after 90 days).

I have a question for bornnaked though, if someone is late that doesn't affect your decision? I always thought if you were late they'd think bad of you. I mean he called so it's good, but in general...

Well, they said they have alot of people that call of, show up late, etc. they're pretty short handed as it is. They all said the only thing they require is that I come in everyday and on time.

I called them yesterday and the first time they gave me the wrong information, apparently I talked to the wrong person and they got confused, so they called me back, but I was at work, so I called on my lunch break, and she was out to lunch as well, so I had to call two other time before I finally talked to her to get the interview for today. I'm just glad I got it over with now.

Here in Charlotte due to traffic and sometimes it is hard to find some places.I look at it this way.Everyone is human.

This is only the third job interview I've ever had.

The first one was when I got hired at the place I'm working at now, the second one I didn't even get the interview because I was five minutes late because I got lost, and then the one today.

Dont let them forget about you.

Call them in a day or so to thank them for the interview. Be sure to stress how interested you are in the job and what an asset you will be to the company.

Let another day or two go by, and if they havent called, call them again. If the job has been awarded to someone else, ask them what qualifications that person had over you. Be sure to let them know you are still interested. It sounds to me as if they may have a pretty high turnover - you'd have a good chance of getting the job, even though you may not be awarded it immediately.

Just keep after them.

Yes. My first interview was a 10:am and in town I was not familuar with. There was road work which shut down the highway for 1/2 hour. Needless to say I was late. Lucky for me the salesman verified my delimia. I got the job and worked there 6 years and counting
