Run faster? Get under a tree? Knock on someone's door? I dont usually jog or run with an umbrella....I wouldnt use the umbrella to protect myself if I had one...it could act as a conductor if it has metal on it...A tree wont protect you...I would run home and strip |

Oh, I'd make sure to open an umbrella. Nothing like providing lightening with a bigger target and possibly some metal to work with.
I'd get to a building or a car in fairly short order and wait it out. I would most likely not knock on a stranger's door in that "Hi, Good Morning! I was hoping you'd let me in as there is a lightening storm going on and I desperately hope not to be struck.....," might facilitate their contacting 911 pretty quickly. -Drew |

Run faster? Get under a tree? Knock on someone's door? No umbrella No trees Those are too dangerous during lightning. I would continue my run, I love the rain. I used to go swiming during the summer in rainstorms. |

It was a warm summer day and I was riding my bicycle. I was about a mile from home. It began to pour rain. No wind, just rain. It was a warm rain. The dirt turned to mud under the wheels of the bike. I had to get off and walk.
Soon I was soaked from head to toe. I got onto the pavement and the rain washed off all the mud. It was the best shower I had ever had. JB |

A neighbor and I used to walk to & home from work for the exercise...one humid summer day it started to pour rain on our way home....so we took off our sandals and ran through all the puddles and rain like little children ...kick fights with the water and laughing our asses off the whole time. Good Stuff!
