FYI, I started this post thinking of you Cassie...

lol. hellkitten or whatever, i wasn't taking the beach thing personally, i was just explaining that not everyone who says things like what lex and mr. music listed in his list of peeves are taken from someone else's profile. now the thing with the kid, yes i do take that personally, because i have a 2 year old and he is absolutely everything to me. and i want any guy who is interested in me to know that i'm a mom first, until the end of time. someone with no children could NEVER understand that feeling. that's all.

I'm glad you got the joke, I was kinda iffy on saying that. As far as kids go, I know how you feel. I'm a dad to the end and I love my son more than anything. Nobody could ever come between me and my son or whatever children I might have at the time and its good for whoever I might be seeing to know that, so they don't waste their time trying.

I managed to get my ex-wife's new boyfriend to pay for mine and hers divorce without even asking. This might seem dumb, but I find it hilarious.. He has no idea what he is getting himself into with her.

Anyways, anybody pull off any funny cons?

I can't figure out whether you lack any creativity when creating a post or if this is so genius that I am just too stupid to understand it. I'm probably just too stupid... Oh well.

I do. That and "axolotl." And the phrase "the noble stegosaurus." And "Ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam" in Latin. It's some kind of mental disorder.

Carthago delenda est (English: "Carthage must be destroyed") or the fuller Ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam or also Ceterum autem censeo, Carthaginem esse delendam (English: "Furthermore, I think Carthage must be destroyed") are Latin phrases, clarion calls in the Roman Republic which came in the latter years of the Punic Wars.

Gotta love wiki. I dunno about it being a mental disorder though.

I think he was referring to them as one-liners in peoples profile, not just mentioned along with everything else they might enjoy.

smokin I prefer dogs as animals, but cats as pets. Dogs seem more in tune with their master's feelings than cats, are more loyal, and can protect you better. They're called man's best friend for a reason.

However, let's face it, cats are much lower maintenance. They're smart, highly entertaining, and much more independent than dogs. Suits me fine at this point in my life. smokin

Get a lynx and you get the best of both worlds..

Don't get me wrong. It just gets sickening when every profile you read has some reference to "the beach" in it. One can only imagine how many hits they would get if they mentioned they liked to hang out at the pool. For me, it's of no interest. I don't care about "the beach". Such profiles immediately make me flip to the next profile. It's like hearing a song on the radio you can't stand. *CLICK!*

Honestly, I've yet to read a profile that mentions the beach lol.

I don't care either way. As long as it's fast then I'm peachy. I have a 2001 Z3 that I am working on right now. By the time I'm done with it, it's probably going to be the most insane Z3 in the states.

ah so its about how much or how little effort you need to put into having a pet....

Not even close. Like I said, the cat I am working to get is a lynx. On top of having to have a massive amount of legal papers, depending on where I will be living at the time, here in Texas, I have to have 12ft tall fences around my property. Taking care of such a big cat is not a small task and will require a lot more work than taking care of a dog. I also said I plan on having an Akita, which won't be as much work, but it just so happens it is a very intelligent breed. I also owned a half wolf/chow mix one time and he was the smartest dog I have so far ever owned in my life.

The guy that killed the rapist should be killed? I don't see your reasoning, but ok. I'm a sick bastard though and I'm also pretty violent. There are certain trespasses a person can make and I will probably end up eventually killing them given the right situation. Then again, I'm Army. If someone threatens my life or a family members life, then they can pretty much kiss their ass goodbye. I guess I signed up for the right job..

I think for the most part that we should incorporate some kind of public humiliation, but as far as murders go then yes, put em down and be done with it. Although, some murders are justified in my opinion. Say some guy rapes some female, and a guy she knows kill the rapist. The guy that killed the rapist should maybe serve some time, but not be put to death. That's just an example.

So then what is the point in getting upset if you know they are not on the same intellectual level and know that you won't be meeting them? Seems like a waste of perfectly good time/energy, doesn't it?

I'm not sure why it upsets me. I do have an anger problem so that could be the reason, but it's not something I really control well. I mean I don't go out and beat someone down because of it. It's only a small amount of anger.. just a tad. heh

Cats.. but let me clarify by what I mean by cats. They are usually more intelligent than dogs, but not as much fun. So basically you get a very large cat. I'm working on getting a lynx and possibly a few other really large cats. You have superior intelligence along with being able to play with them like they are dogs because of their size and they can eat any dog alive.

really you think cats are smarter than dogs?? You are either getting the wrong dogs, or you aren't paying attention

Most dogs are dumb. There are some select dogs and select breeds that are on par with cats. One breed is Akita. I will own an Akita because they are extremely intelligent and wonderful dogs to own.

Also, cats are usually laid back when you want them to be whereas dogs usually don't care either way unless you train them really well. Cats just have it built in.

no pic
long profiles...

I hate the super long profiles also. You can tell a person about yourself without telling your entire life story. I personally link them to my myspace which pretty much shows what kind of person I am on there without having to bore them with a research paper on my life. If they are interested then maybe they will check it out, if not then so be it.

Not really. I believe that a persons profile shows their own individuality. Thus, giving me a glimpse of what they are like and I get to decide if I am interested or not.

As a writer, the errors don't even bother me. I guess I wouldn't want anyone telling me that my personal style is "not good enough" or that the way I talk/type/etc. "pisses them off" because that is like saying, "I know you are you but it's not good enough. Conform NOW!"

It's not the style of writing... I'm talking about profiles that you can read and pretty much know one hundred percent that they really don't know how to spell even the most simple words correctly. It shows that however nice they might be, you probably won't be having any type of intelligent conversation with them any time soon.
