I asked my sister that once... and she said if a man gets so mad at her that he gets violent then he must really care. She was with one man who put a gun to her head and hospitalized her more than once. He died commiting a robbery. She was with another who (after getting his green card) started hitting her with coat hangers and pulled a machette out on her threatening to kill her. There have been others. Now she doesn't date... but for years she was drawn to abusive bad boys and could not stay with the nice guys... go figure.

Why, myself of course...

If I lose my lover I will be heartbroken, sad, and lonely... all those emotions that are so difficult to endure...

If I lose my best friend I have lost my confidante, I feel sad, lost... more of those emotions that are so difficult to endure....

If I am the person to take either life I feel remorse, guilt, impending doom... more emotions that are so difficult to endure...

I kill myself, they have to endure the feelings of loss, sadness, loneliness... LOL... JK... selfishness in the extreme, Heh?

But really, I kill myself instead of one of them and I need only to face my creator with the emotions... not the world.

If you have just recently stopped drinking/drugging then rest assured... this too shall pass. If you haven't just stopped and addictive substance and you drink or use... this may not pass to quickly...

Many in early recovery tend to have that same exact problem... thoughts constantly running in and out of their heads and sometimes these are referred to as voices in their heads... other times they really hear voices in their heads for some time...

Good luck with that one... I would pray on it.
