The picture of the rose looking so forlorn really adds emphasis to this quote. Kinda sad in a way.

Thanks for sharing this. Writing can be an outlet for pain and having a place to share it can also help the healing.

"Nothing like a fresh pot over an open campfire on a clear day at about 9000 ft." Sounds nice If you've never tried it you should. The peace and quiet of a clear day with nothing but nature to keep you company. It's as close to heaven on earth as you can get. I live in an inner city apartment - if I open my door past 6 am all I hear is rap music, people talking too loud, muscle cars and kids yelling - so I have become a hermit :o) Makes me glad I was raised a country boy and have been able to keep this life style. As a kid we did live in L.A. for a couple years. Sure glad my parents came back to Wyoming. you are so blessed. By the way - looks like the race could be wet today - but in the 70's I have to wait a couple more hours out here before any programs come on so I can get updates. |

It this the fall apart group! I have a torn muscle that gives me trouble but nothing like what you'll have. Sorry, so many of us are in pain! We could name it the Ouch Club! Leave my name off the list. I feel great. No aches and pains out here. |

All this talk of the wilderness has me dying to get up there. I hope summer gets here quick. And a good morning to all the others who have joined in. You getting to old for winter camping too? I used to love cross country ski camping trips. Now I would rather play golf in the sunshine all winter. To many nights in a cold, sometimes wet sleeping bag in a tent. These days I like the comfort of a soft warm bed. Even if I'm in it all by myself. |

Good Morning Everyone, Coffee's ready. Plenty to go round. Come on in and set a spell. Morning Ms Flame. Coffee sounds great. I'll just sit here and enjoy a cup or three I'm betting Ron likes his coffee the same as I do, strong enough to hold a spoon upright. Must be a mountain thing Nothing like a fresh pot over an open campfire on a clear day at about 9000 ft. I agree, that's why I learned to drink my coffee black, you don't carry sugar and cream in a backpack. Living out of a backpack in the wilderness is a wonderful experience. My longest pack trip lasted 17 days. I packed into the wilderness 20 miles and lived off fish and coffee. Man it was beautiful up there. |

Morning HG and July. I'm just gonna sit here for few and sip on this hot strong coffee and enjoy the quiet of the morning. Hope you both slept well. Good morning Ron, So glad you could join me for coffee. I hope you had a restful night. I feel as if I didn't sleep but I know I did, but I am still sleepy. I'll be here through maybe three cups of coffee and then I need to get back to other things. But I am glad to shre in some conversation this morning. |

PG this is very touching and sad. It seems we all have some one we miss in which so many things we see and hear remind us of them. Memories and thoughts of what might have been will go on forever and in some cases haunt us forever. Thanks for sharing this. Thanks, Ron I can't figure out why sometimes we feel like things will be all right, and then out of the blue everything just seems to suck. It's that little thing inside of us called the heart. Many of us are capable of giving our complete heart to someone and when it's crushed, for what ever reason, the heart can't seem to forget. I don't think we should have to forget those we had a close or personal relationship with. Relationships, good and bad are what define us. It wouldn't be fair to the other person to forget them completly. They were a part of our lives. Hopefully we learn from the experience. |

May have rain delays today for the 500. The weather doesn't look good! I hope not. Rain delays are a drag for the fans |

Wow for a minute I thought I had missed the race......wrong race.Anyway I was so saddened when Dale Earnhart was killed. He was one of my husbands favorate drivers along with Jeff Gordon.I have a reprint of Dale Earnhart and Richard Petty 7and 7 wins 1994. I collect racing collectables and literally have thousands of 1/24 1/32 1/64 cars, posters, sweatshirt and other items I have collected for years. I call it my one good, bad habit. Collecting don't get me drunk or give me cancer. |
