Actually I would rather have an SATA then and ATA drive it is much
faster and will also reduce your temp as the wire is round and thin
allowing you to have increased airflow in your case.

Also SATA atr typically more expensive then ATA as well. ATA is
becomming "Vintage" .

Personally I would suggest programs like norton ghost or there is a
similar one out ther I am told is actually better. However, If you
create an image of your system and burn it to DVD. even with a total HDD
loss you can restore your OS and all the programs and data onto a new
HDD in about an hour or less.

It is like those system recovery tools to bring your system back to the
way it was the day it left the factory.

I never get those personally as I build my computers from pieces.

BTW touching the outside of the metal case while you are in there will
ground any static electricity you may have built up in you.

Keep in mind you may need to specially format your new HDD as drives
over a certain size will not be recognized as their full size if you do
not do it correctly. Read the lit with it or use the disks and driver
programs to setup your new hdd you should be fine.

In business I used to use pcAnywhere to remote control servers and pcs
around the globe. However it needs to be installed on both ends of the
connection and is not open source.

It did give me the advantage of allowing me to take control of the
remote desktiop as well as be able to do a ctrl alt del or reboot
remotely though and have it reconnect as soon as the unit came back
online.

As far as a tutorial or an open source version of it I would look
towards either some of the cds you hae on ebay for disatser recovery
disks or the people in the black hat hacker world.

Personally, I want no affiliations with them I am strictly a white hat
kind of programmer but they are out there and they are typically well
versed in Linux as well as Windows and Mac.

anything to say before surgury as it was likely he may die form his
injury.

THis was a happy man nothing could get down who was hurt mind you. you
know what he said to them.

like he was still a living person not a dead one.

He then went into surgury where the doctors complied with his wishes. He
was in surgury for 23 hours straight.

The man lived through it and had a full recovery within 6 months.
