I've had this issue with my daughter only it was going to the movies without an adult. She did the whole screaming, crying, begging, "but everyone else does" bit. I let her simmer and then the next day we talked. I explained to her that although I TRUSTED HER I did not trust other people. That got her attention real quick. We talked about what happens when strangers are around and about some things we had heard on the news or through school. We still have our moments but she seems to understand now and doesn't throw a fit. I even heard her on the phone the other day say "is your Mom going to be there?" See, they do listen!!!

I've read all those books too. No matter what I tried my ex couldn't stay faithful. Makes you wonder if there are any honest, sincere, faithful people out there. I look around and see other people who don't believe in God and still manage to keep their marriages going even after several affairs. Why couldn't I make my husband happy and keep our marriage intact? Nothing I did was ever good enough. Guess some guys always think the grass is greener on the other side. They think the 20% they think they don't have is better than the 80% they know they have. One day he will realize he left the total package for something that will never last. I keep telling myself that God will avenge and it will be far better than anything I could ever do or imagine.
