You gotta watch 'Money Heist' (Netflix) -- made in Spain but dubbed on English -- good writing, good acting, good drama.
also, the Japanese movie 'The Shoplifters' (Netflix) is very good. |

Dating after 60
|
|
yes, people do date after they turn 60 years of age. I have to admit it's much harder now to meet single men in my age range who are interested in dating. I've tried a few Meet-up groups in my city (a few years back) and it was ok. And unfortunately I've been approached by a few scammers on this site. I'm going to try to find other avenues to meet people, good luck to all of us 60+ crowd.

We all do have some deeply entrenched patterns that may affect our ability to have a long-term, positive and loving partnership. Marisa Peer is a British therapist and she has some very helpful videos for free on Youtube.
The book I'm reading now has been very helpful for me, it is: Reinventing Your Life: The Breakthrough Program to End Negative Behavior and Feel Great Again (by Jeffrey E. Young, Janet S. Klosko, Aaron T. Beck) 1994. This book has a whole section on 'lifetraps' -- and within an hour or so you can figure out your key lifetraps -- another word for patterns. At least you have awareness as to what is causing you issues in your life; and the authors put forth suggestions for an action plan. The book is very inexpensive, a lot cheaper than hours of therapy with a psychotherapist. |

wow, so many threads here it's hard to keep track. Not to discredit the painful & real history of African Americans and slavery -- but you don't have to go too far into history books to find that Asians were also subject to slavery. Start with the history of how mines and railroads were developed and built in North America.

candle light is the best -- oh, a red light bulb works well too, but overall not too much light.

canada is boring move to d.c. u.s.a. and live a little.... Sorry Acquired Taste, but Canada is far from boring. Have you gone whale watching off the shores of Newfoundland, have you seen killer whales off the shores of BC, have you checked out the night life & live music scene in Montreal, have you seen Banff National park, what about the Bear Rock Sinkhole in NWT, the Northern lights? The natural wonders of Canada are too plentiful to list in this little box. You haven't lived if you haven't seen Canada. |

Requests for WhatsApp number
|
|
This is a constant request. And the profiles are questionable. It almost makes you think, WhatsApp is using fake profiles to get people to download it. Or This whole dating app, is a front for the app. Scammers don't only ask you go communicate by WhatsApp but they'll also ask you to communicate through Google hangout or by email. You've got to be really careful. A few years ago I gave my cell number to someone I was chatting with (on another dating site), he had a phone number with my area code in Canada -- and when I searched his phone number I found the number in an online Escort database in mid-Western USA, go figure! I asked him/her to lose my number and thankfully they did. Be careful, report the suspicious profiles -- and Google everything. |

* Public health care, thank you Canada; * None of my family, friends, or colleages got Covid-19, thank God; * Learning more about mindfulness & meditation, thank you Insight Timer & Youtube. Blessings & positivity to all of you. |

After 8 hours approx - Matched with a man, quite a few fakes trying to get my email address but some very nice profiles too. Signed up for 3 months of mingling, see what happens. hi John, you gotta be patient -- it's a bit of work to get to meet people when using a dating site. There are definitely some fake profiles out there, it helps to ask questions and trust your instincts. Good luck and take care |

I think you Americans need real gun control laws/regulations in every state. The "live free or die" ideology was great back about 2 hundred years ago. There's a reason why gun crimes per capita are low in Canada & the UK, it's called GUN CONTROL! ... just sayin'

respect, trust, affection & kindness, but most importantly remember that love is not just a feeling -- it is a decision and an action. Long after the romance & thrills are gone, you have to decide that you're going to love your partner -- that's the bigger picture.

best place to live in Canada is Atlantic Canada -- especially if you can get away down south for the timeframe of January to April, i.e. the winter months. The people are friendly, the air is clean, it's a slower pace of life, and the scenery & nature is so beautiful. And the fish / seafood is delicious.

and did you know that there's more than one language in Spain, based on regional diversity, for e.g.:
(English) John took his donkey to the market today to buy some corn. (Basque) Johnek astotxoa merkatura eraman du gaur artoa erostera. Hopefully you've learned something new today |
