ok well i am new doing this and need help getting back what christians have lost and not giving up on battles we could win well if enough of you keep doing it they cant but hear us and notice that we should be taken more serious!!! Thing is; Jesus said not to preach, but to live as another may want too. By example. He said to be kind and helpful, showing love, concern and moral living. Anger begets anger, fear evolves harshness and pain. Love is kind. When the student is ready....the teacher appears. Not until then. Kat you have opened my eyes and we need to show kindness to those who show hate and turn the other cheek when they hit us!!! and let all there hateful words roll off our backs!!! I don't do the other cheek bit too well. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

i am dragonyosh and i am here to say we christians need to stick together and not let one of our brothers or sisters get harassed or bad mouthed by others or even afraid to stand up for God!!! we need to be united like they are and defend one another and i thank those who defended me and came to help me when i was in trouble and know that i will be there if you come to me for help!!! I understand your concerns dragon but try to remember what Jesus did. He didn't tell those who taunted and jabbed him to hit the bricks. They were handled with kindness and if it got to be too much he went off to pray in peace.Did I just type that? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() No offense intended here but is this the christian way of thinking, no abortion cause it is murder but death to anyone who may or may not be guilty of a crime, where is the forgiveness of christianity and the redeption of a lost soul in this whole thing here? I was a victim of child molestation but I do not wish death on the perpetrator. So what does that make me? It makes you a dysfunctional victim. Dysfunctional people seek dysfunction. It is what they know from how they were raised. An uncomfortable comfort zone.As convenient as it may be, don't compare apples to oranges. An unborn baby or unviable tissue mass as you might see it has committed no crime. A convicted murderer, rapist, child molester, or whatever, has been found guilty by a jury. I am against the death penalty as a Christian. I am sure it pains some to hear that. One less finger to point.... at someone else. ![]() |

I have a pair of magic anti-terrorism pants. I bought them from a traveling salesman right after Sept. 11. He told me that as long as I own them, the United States will not be hit by any terrorist attacks. So far, he's been right--we haven't. A lot of people say that it's because of the policies implemented by the Bush administration, but really, I know for sure it's because of my pants. You can't prove otherwise--I still have the pants, and we've had no planes crash into any buildings in New York or Northern Virginia. My pants are doing a great job, if you ask me. Some people say--that's one of the president's favorite rhetorical constructions, and if it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me--some people say that it's the job of the president to guard the United States, and he says he's successful because so far al-Qaida hasn't been back. Well, for starters, I've read the Constitution, and I've read the president's oath of office, and nowhere in either one does it say that it's the president's job to protect America. The oath of office says it's the president's job to protect and defend the Constitution; when it comes to how well he's done that, I believe the jury might still be out. First Amendment? Well, they were locking people up for protesting outside the president's rallies when he ran for re-election in 2004. Fourth Amendment? Well, there's that matter of warrantless wiretapping where the government and the phone companies were colluding on violating your privacy (the Democrats and, specifically, Sen. Barbara Mikulski, as it stands currently, are helping acquiesce on that one right now when it comes to the "compromise" on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act). Fifth Amendment? Well, the Military Commissions Act gave a good shot at eliminating the right of habeus corpus for anyone the president decided was an "enemy combatant," no matter where the "battlefield" happens to be, much less that business about "due process of law." The Sixth Amendment deals with the right of a speedy trial and to confront witnesses against you; there's a bunch of people, including American Yasir Esam Hamdi, who never got a "speedy trial" much less a chance to confront his accusers, so that goes right out the window. And of course, there's the matter of the Eighth Amendment, where the phrase "cruel and unusual punishments" almost perfectly describes waterboarding and the other "enhanced interrogation techniques" better than anything Jefferson, Madison, and Hamilton might have thought up in any fevered historical dream. So for the job the president's supposed to be doing, he's not really doing all that well at it. And the job he claims to be doing is being handled just fine by my magic pants. Sadly, I didn't pick up the salesman's magical Constitution-protecting pants that day, but then again, I didn't think I'd need them, because the president swore he'd protect it, and he said when he first ran for office that he was a uniter, not a divider, and that he didn't believe in nation-building. Back in the 1990s, I didn't have a pair of magical anti-terrorism pants because Timothy McVeigh was caught, tried, and executed. Ramzi Yousef, who planned the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, was caught, tried, and is serving life in prison without parole. Same for Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh: tried, convicted, sentenced to life in prison. The president didn't send them to Gitmo, waterboard them, hold them without trial for years or deny them lawyers, and the Constitution managed to survive. I don't even think the magic Constitution-protecting pants were even on the drawing board back then. But there they sat on the shelf of the salesman's cart back in late September of 2001, and I didn't buy them. I feel pretty bad about that now. I figure they would have helped blow the smoke from the eyes of Democrats in Congress who caved to the administration's warrantless wiretapping plan, especially since it relies on the courts saying, "If the president told us it was okay, then it must have been okay." The way the new law is written up, even the lawsuits that have already been filed against the telecoms would have to be thrown out if judges are told that the Bush Justice Department--heretofore known as an open, accountable, self-regulating institution--approved the wiretaps. Never you mind that it's already been shown that those self-same patriotic telecoms were more than happy to shut them down if the bills weren't paid. So unless Senate detractors like Chris Dodd and Russell Feingold can overcome those like Sen. Mikulski who have already signaled that they'll give in to the president, it looks like it will have been my mistake not to have bought those Constitution-protecting pants after all. But so far, my magical anti-terrorism pants have been working like a charm. What's that you say? We were attacked since Sept. 11? What about the anthrax attacks? These pants suck. About author Brian Morton is a columnist for the Baltimore City Paper. http://www.smirkingchimp.com/thread/15501 Uh, they aren't magical pants. ![]() ![]() Congrtulations! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Is Atheism a religion?
|
|
I would say not a religion but a way of thinking....maybe to some a religion. I think you would have to ask them. Atheism = non beliefs of godsrmation of the nonexistence of gods Pantheism = believes that the trees are god, the mountain is god...that my dog spot is god. This is what came to me regarding this thread. Matthew 13 10 His disciples came and asked him, “Why do you use parables when you talk to the people?” 11 He replied, “You are permitted to understand the secrets[a] of the Kingdom of Heaven, but others are not. 12 To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them. 13 That is why I use these parables, For they look, but they don’t really see. They hear, but they don’t really listen or understand. 14 This fulfills the prophecy of Isaiah that says, ‘When you hear what I say, you will not understand. When you see what I do, you will not comprehend. 15 For the hearts of these people are hardened, and their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes— so their eyes cannot see, and their ears cannot hear, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to me and let me heal them.’ 16 “But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear. 17 I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see, but they didn’t see it. And they longed to hear what you hear, but they didn’t hear it. Man wrote the bible in parables because it can fit into more than one scenerio, making it easier to pass off as some divine work of revelation. All religions must claim to have some kind of divine knowledge that is above the normal for people to believe they are superior and therefore special. Otherwise all religions would fail. My opinion of course. imo of course......did you not read why Jesus spoke in parables......not to make it fit more scenerio's.... 10 His disciples came and asked him, “Why do you use parables when you talk to the people?” 11 He replied, “You are permitted to understand the secrets[a] of the Kingdom of Heaven, but others are not. 12 To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them. 13 That is why I use these parables, Now for me pretty clear......for you not so....hmmmmmmm ![]() ![]() ![]() |

And then you would wake up and realize just how silly your dream was and how little you know about anything beyond your anus? ![]() ![]() now is that very nice? ![]() Compared to the rest of the BS I have been reading here lately? Yup. I would say it is pale in comparison. Perhaps you found his post to be a nice piece of literary work? I will respond in kind. But then, hey, he is not a Christian so he can say what he wants? Bash who or what he wants? The double standard that runs rampant here makes me sick. |

The question is also valid to a true christian. Let us say you have your faith and relationship in believing what the bible teaches you, yet one day you find out that the very book you preach everyday in these forums is not true. You find out that the very religion you believe to be the ultimate answer to all things needed to sustain in life and afterlife is nothing but a lie. So as you find out that this religion you learn is actually the opposite of what you thought. Now we know you don't believe in this, but I ask you to think further and put yourself in the situation that it is proven that it is a fact that Christianity is actually the teaches of ending human life! Is it so hard to answer that question or will you always elude it by saying the question is illogical and comparing it with birth of a child? Smiless.....once again, what you wrote does NOT apply to a TRUE born again christian....simply because TRUE christianity is NOT about religion!! Smiless.....something supernatural took place in a christian's spirit, when he asked Jesus into his heart and MEANT it..... that person now became a brand new creature in Christ.....cause his old dead spirit is now BORN AGAIN!! Too late to try to change a born again christian....cause that former person is NO MORE.....that FORMER person NOW has a BRAND NEW SPIRIT living in him .....in other words...that former person has become BORN AGAIN!!! See Smiles.....we christians did NOT join a religion, we Joined Jesus......and that is why I say, TRUE christianity is NOT NOT about joinng some religion !!! Although yes, there are some "christians" out there, that are just into "religion", and nothing more, sad to say. (This is churchiolity for you , not christianity) Once more TRUE Christianity is about RELATIONSHIP. Relationship back with the Father . And that RELATIONSHIP can ONLY come ,by accepting Jesus... and when man does, he becomes BORN AGAIN ...and is NEVER the same afterwards!!! EVER AGAIN!! And a christian can't become UNBORN, once he is BORN AGAIN!! Once more, this question you asked, does not apply to true christians....but it may apply to those caught up in religiousity , only. Nice try Morning Song but you can describe the differences until you re blue in the face and it simply boils down to the fact that some people do not get it. Nothing against them, they simply have not seen and felt what we have and understandably they doubt it....... just as I did. ![]() ![]() |

If Jesus comes back...

Well I would give him a high five and say what took you so long!!!! I don't fear Jesus if he existed. Why should I unless the Bible teaches us to fear him then I can understand why Christians use fear in this world. We already know that tolerance is not practiced in the Bible. If so then why are we threatened if we don't believe we must face the consequences. I am told this all the time in here. Perhap if Jesus came back he would nod his head in dismay saying this is exactly what I was not teaching. How it has been revised a thousand times is truly sad. Then he would slam the book shut and say let us rewrite this book. First we shall say everyone will have a safe haven when they die. Those who believe or not! Second under the certain circumstances of how life is lived today and how it was lived back then will have some changes and Jesus would hire a good typist to rewrite those rules. Then he would summon Moses, Mohammed, Buddha, some hindu gods, sumerian gods, egyptian gods, greek gods and ask for everyone to form a circle to hold hands. He then would ask for everyone to pray to bring peace, tolerance, love, and solutions for a safer planet. How about that!! ![]() And then you would wake up and realize just how silly your dream was and how little you know about anything beyond your anus? ![]() ![]() |

Read some alternate news for a change: http://www.sott.net/signs/Stranger_Than_Fiction.htm There are those among us who do have the courage and intellectual capacity to break free of the shackles of lemminghood and accept the truth when it is presented in a clear and logical sequence. To those open minded and independent thinkers I wish to state clearly and unequivocally. I intend to set forth in this paper an overwhelming body of evidence which should forever destroy the notion that a Saudi Arabian caveman and his band of half-trained, nerdy Arab flight school attendees, orchestrated the most sophisticated terror operation in world history. The idea is utterly laughable. And yet, due to the blithering barrage of bull**** dished out by the government/media complex, "patriotic" Americans have accepted this ridiculous fairy tale with a religious conviction. As a public service to my fellow Americans, I have published the results of my research in the hopes of liberating as many people as I can from the oppressive yoke of media brainwashing and state sponsored lies. Do you have what it takes to break free? If so, read on! I understand everyone's concerns but if you know Lakeville, and I KNOW Lakeville, it was a small farm town turned yuppie city with a nearly non-existent crime rate and in this ultra liberal state is anyone surprised that the nanny state wants to go around checking doors? What's next? Maybe they could make sure my trash cans are picked up and my porch light is off when I go to bed?
