WOW! You people are so hateful...talk about being intolerant.

People in glass houses...just like yu'all say when it's your sacred cow... people don't need to explain why they feel the way they do. That goes for you too. You can believe what you want but don't expect people to get on any old bandwagon.

Seems to me there are a few fence straddlers. They have every right to be upset with the decisions the majority made for them.
You'd be upset too if you were in their place, so try to empathize with them a little.
I understand where you're coming from, but I also think that people SHOULD have the right to choose for themselves.

They already do choose for themselves. That's not the problem. When they want to govt. sanction instead of recognizing they are law breakers then that's the problem.

They had government sanction in some parts of your country. And then it got taken away. That's awfully unfair to their right to choose, don't you think so?

I might be a staddler on political sides but a Firm believer of the constitution. I would die for that constitution..I dont agree with some of the interpataions of it but will fight for it till the death.

That's very noble.

To an extent. As you said "throat shovers" are out of the question.
That's like getting involved with a person and later down the line making them renounce their faith to join yours- totally not cool.

But, I have no issues so long as they treat me right.

Bras. Hate shopping for them. Hate wearing them. Wish it was the 70's again and we could all burn the damn things.

I second that!

But for the most part.....most americans that I have met have been pleasantly surprized that I dont "sound" canadian!!!noway laugh laugh

What is it to "sound" like a Canadian? Are they talking about an accent that occurs in a particular area? I don't get it. I mean I can talk like a Newphie because I live in Fort McMurray ie: The second capital of Newfoundland. But I still fail to understand this. We have accents from all over, and so do they.

My ex hubby who was an american used to make fun of me being canadian and my country.

He was so ignorant about my country and used to make it sound like we all said "eh" and ate back bacon and drank beer and lived in igloos.

I know it shouldnt have bothered me because he was ignorant of other parts of the world but it did get to me!!!explode

I think I ripped his face off a few times!!!pitchfork

Wow. noway What a dink.
The guy tried to get me drunk and then have a sports discussion. I'm not exactly into any sport. He told me that hockey (which he just assumed was our national sport) was a wussy game, and then insisted that the most "manly" sport out there was American football.

Old fashioned dating is when a woman expects the man to pay for every meal and every activity.

I love it when you are trying to merge onto the highway and the car next to you does everything they can to block you. Eventually you find yourself driving in the emergency lane with your blinker still on

What about those awesome people who stop when they enter the merge lane?

smile2Have you ever wondered how someone could love you with all of your flaws?smile2

Always. But isn't it true that we're usually hardest on ourselves? What we may perceive as a wealth of flaws may look different to someone else.

How do you love someone even with all of their flaws?

It would generally depend on the person. Normally I would probably tell the ignorant person to f-off being that they don't know my family and only family is allowed to pick on family.

I didn't have to go that far to get that person to go away.

When people get in line behind that one cute old person who's paying with small change and they b*tch about it; loudly enough for everyone to hear.
Who doesn't want to love all over those nasty people?

How many people here think they act the same way in person as they do online? How many are completely different here than they would be in person? Just wondering, as someone was just telling me that how he is on here is just an act. I'm sure he's not the only one.

I'm sure many people honestly try to act the same as they are in real life.

Apparently in real life (according to my mother) I'm a smarta**, beautiful man-hater. My best friend would likely call me a sarcastic, goofy pushover. Honestly, I think they're both right. I am most of those things.

It all comes down to who you're comfortable saying certain things to. You can only try to force yourself to be as honest as possible...Those who don't, are probably entitled to do so, it's just not as honest as many of us would like.

So you're out of the country. And you happen upon a singles outting or a bar. Not too long after arriving someone buys you a drink and begins to chat you up. They quickly realize you're not from around there and begin to insult your country, it's politics and anything else they can get their little minds to wrap around.

How do you, manage to get them to go away and leave you the heck alone without right out insulting them? I know the world view about Canadians is that we're polite and pushovers. But, I find it difficult to be nice when someone begins to belittle my home.

still no nonreligious argument against it i see

That's because they'd actually have to think and not referrence the bible first.

are you eating pizza in your pic ?...I'm jealous !!...offtopic

Yes it's pizza. Who doesn't like a pie once in awhile? Truely though, I just think it's a friends personal vendetta to make people think I'm always eating pizza.
That's very off topic.

a pie ?...that's very east coast...it's called a pie in NY...thats been the debate for years...New York pizza or Chicago [ my nape of the neck ]...now...any true Italian would eat thin crust, sausage only...do you concur ?...way...way...offtopic

I eat all kinds. I don't see the point in debating a type of food that is so pleasing in whichever form it appears. That's like saying food that comes on a stick is better then food you must eat with a spoon. Take ice cream- it's good in both formats...

well do you know of one

just curious

if there is no non religious based argument then ANY BANNING OF IT IS UNCONSTITUTIONal (oooppps but it fits so i will leave it)

it is give religion a policy/law making authority which in essence is establishing a religion (which is against the first amendment)

I can't think of one. Which isn't suprising because I would never agree with taking a group of people and taking away their rights because I don't agree with their so called "wrong behavior".
I mean if we look at history we can't actually call homosexuality wrong. People have been screwing one another regardless of sex since we began.

However history has also taught us that both the South and North American continents were "discovered" and "settled" by groups of religious despots. Who though they are religious and moral find no problem with discrimination.
