I'm Hardcore Straight-Edge, which is different than conventional straight-edge which is simply being drug free and has been watered down by people trying to be trendy and not really meaning it.

Hardcore Straight-Edge or as I call it "True Straight-Edge" Means I cannot partake of recreational Drugs, Alcohol, or Recreational Sex (Marital only). Nothing to distract me from my Discipline.

Sorry about the rant.

please dot get angry... I usually try to keep things on topic but i was actually and still will do a post on the " straight edge" way of life. I know it is deff becoming a trend but beyond that I am very against my life being defined and categorized in such a way. while in grad school i was eating lunch wit ha group of people and they were all getting excited about going out to get drunk after a big exam. they asked me if i was down and i agreed to go out but told them i wouldn't be drinking because i don't do that. one woman immediately said " oh so you are straight edge"... I replied " no i am simply a person who doesn't drink smoke or do drugs.

i know that in my dating pool its hard to find someone who doesn't drink or do drugs... lots of times they simply don't consider things a drug. particularly weed
I don't know about you guys but its also hard to find someone who can have fun without involving alcohol... very frustrating.

Types of Personality Disorders:

Cluster A: Includes paranoid, schizoid, and schizotypal personality disorders.

Cluster B: Includes antisocial, borderline, histrionic, and narcissistic personality disorders.

Cluster C: Includes avoidant, dependent, obsessive-compulsive, and passive-aggressive personality disorders.

None of these can be "fixed". They don't go away. They can be managed, though, IMO.

They are NOT MMIs. Not mental illnesses. They are Axis II. They can be fixed, you'd be surprised. It's called boundaries, therapy, cognitive therapy to be exact, and a loss of SSI benefits. I agree it's rare, as it is hard work....

you really think they can be fixed???? i don't think im at the level to accurately say for certain but i don't think i can cosign with you on this one. maybe its the word "fixed" they can deff take strides for the better but medication doesn't do anything and they will be that way for the most part for life. maybe " managed" is something i can agree with... assuming you can get them to believe they have this diagnosis

A personality disorder is not a mental disease or defect. It can be fixed or corrected, with treatment.

I'm so with you there.

Here is a good one:
What's the difference between an azzhole and an antisocial?
Health insurance....as the antisocial got the diagnosis. laugh

Yes, Antisocial=Azzhole. Totally.

Winx, I know Biploar is real. I met one last week. But since then I've met six who were just losers who got the DX somehow.

sorry to clump all of them together as they are technically not... but people with personality disorders deff rub em the wrong way

I don't know these days. I will be honest Ive never taken drugs and probably never will.I can comprehend why some people do drugs but I cant cosign. I don't like how weed is the alcohol of this generation. the number of people that do drugs of some kind i feel is at the point of being higher than the number of people who don't do drugs.
would you date a drug use or if a drug user would you date a non drug user. I see nothing but conflict but explain to me how it works..

Depression, ADHD, ODD, OCD, Biporlar, Schitzophrenia, schitzoaffective, conduct disorder, personality disorder.

a lot of men and women swear that their partner is crazy but have the time done even know just how right they are.
Are you or have you been involved with someone you swore was mentally off? Have you been involved with someone you KNEW had a mental health issue? Ive know guys who have stayed with someone mentally ill because of the " physical" benifits"

however in the end a lot of these don't go well because there is not a firm grasp of whats really going on. Im curious what you guys have to say.

ADHD and Bipolar. That would be me. It makes for some dofficulties, but not a whole lot, when the person with the disorders is aware of them and knows, usually, how to handle them.

I think I'd rather date someone with OCD or ADHA or whatever who owns it and takes care of it than someone "normal" who's a total drama king, egomaniac, etc. My 2 cents, yo.

for me at least when giving other people advice The first thing i ask is if they are on meds and are they taking it regularly. having seen what i have seen i can tell you that i couldn't knowingly date someone wit ha personality disorder psychotic, or either of the schitzos. personality disorder is an automatic deal breaker no matter what the situation

What kind of men would stay with someone that was mentally ill because of the physical benefits? Just what the world needs, men like that.grumble

We many not need people( both men and women because there are women that stay with mentally ill men for the physical and financial benefits the same as a man) like that but they exist

Could it possibly be because they cared about them?

of course it could be> when i said stayed with them i guess I should have clarified that this is more so in casual relationships and the very beginning of a relationship. Further more if its as long term relationship< im willing to bet that whether it is a man or woman when they found out tat their significant other had a mental health illness they were not entirely surprised. whether it is extreme mood swings, iratic behavior or the extreme of hearing things, its hard not to notice those things

MMIs are actually on my dealbreakers list.

Did you know according to reports, Bipolar DX in teens has allegedly gone up from 40,000 to 800,000 from '94 to '04? Yeah right.... bunch of quack doctors making diagnoses off one visit and all the stupid commercials.

I'd leave if there were a true MI DX, and I'd leave if there weren't. I have a kid.... he comes first. MI is my line of work, so I'm not just talking out my rear here.

Oh, and if you've stayed in a relationship due to physical benefits.... hmmm.

Ill cosign with you right now they over diagnose both bipolar and ADHD. they also confuse the two

EMO rocks!

This is far from emo. I'm not looking for pity or to be placed into a group. The main one I wanted to post was switching lanes without a signal. I as i wrote I thought of a few more and thought it would be interesting to read what bothered other people. I don't believe that your intent was malicious or negative it just so happens that i really hate when people feel the need to place things/people into societal categories, categories which only serve as a means of social control.

You hate a lot...I'm glad I don't hate anything, makes life so much easier.

first hate/hater is just another way of saying it really bothers me
futher more, at least 'm honest. for you were to say you don't hate on anything is an absolute lie. even if you interpreted this literally, to say there isint something that really bothers you is you lying to yourself. and lastly you are 100% correct that i hate o na lot of things. im a honest and open person. now I don't know about you but if you are really late and are driving somewhere only to get stuck behind a 87 year old woman who can barely see over the steering wheel and drives at 17 mph than you are a better man than me. i can think of so many things that at least some would really have to bother you. it is human nature.... but what do I know

beauty bi is the prob the wrong way to spell it but when someone is given a free pass

adam the first thing is to embrace the hate...as long as you aren't cruel and there is a logic to your hate then its all good. there is a difference between " hating" and envy jealousy" as long as you remember that you are golden

People change lanes WITHOUT using a turn signal....

Drunk people bump into you and look at you like you did something wrong.

the sloppy drunk person SWEARS they are sober

I see a good woman with a user/abuser scumbag

my actions are disregarded because i am " not like everyone else" so that they can justify their behaviors.

you are at a bar/club and everyone starts to do one of those " dances" like the superman. ( the electric slide and dances like those get a bi)

the bar plays one of those songs that everyone sings along to....

people try to explain why I should start drinking

i am told that "someday i will make Some woman very happy."

i am going to stop for now
