Welcome to the task at hand of teaching that churchianity and Christianity are two different things.

No such things..period. God did not make those things..man did. Man made "religion", God did not.

Religion is man's attempt to put God within thier understanding.

So IF such things exist, it was done by man, NOT God. And you can rely on man's viewpoint as much as a sheep can rely on a starving wolf to protect it while it sleeps. noway huh

I agree..man made religion and some men have even turned christianity into just another religion(hence churchianity)...but God did not intend for man to turn Jesus into a religion...man did that.

But just because some have turned christianity into just a religion, doesn't mean that the truth of christianaity is any less real...and stil out there...cause TRUE christinaity is about lifting up Jesus.. and relationship with God.

TRUE Christians just meet in a church "building" to FELLOWSHIP and WORSHIP as christians in One Accord......but we are not lifting up religion when we go to church and worship....we are lifting up Jesus.

We join JESUS when you become a christian..not a religion...although again.... there are those christians that have turned christianity into just another religion....and their MAIN focus , is on having you joining their "CHURCH", instead of joining Jesus.

And usually as a result, a lot those "churches" are DEAD, and are the reason So many are turned off by the true meaning of Christinaity..cause they associate christianity with DEAD "churchianity".
(Now please don't confuse to mean that, just because true christians ALSO meet and fellowship in a church BUILDING, that all christians are the same.
NOT !!)

Again..true christianity is lifting up Jesus , not religion.... and is about RELATIONSHIP with God.

Now..before everyone starts condemning churchianity now...gotta add this also...churchianity is waking up..and the hunger in the hearts of the people in these dead churches , are crying out to know the real God..not just "churchianity" anymore...and there are CHANGES happening..as dead religion is NOW falling away..and people are starting to come together...to worship and lift up Jesus..and not denominationalism or churchianity any more.

God is bring people OUT of DEAD churches, but also moving IN the dead chirches and WAKING THEM UP!!!

God is DRAWING OUT...and bringing His people together in ONE ACCORD..to worship and lift up Jesus..NOT fead religion anymore!!

Jesus is the REAL REASON behind Christianity..not relgion.
Jesus came to Save Mankind....NOT to bring us just another relgion.

True Christianity is about relationship and worship of our God, our Lord, our Saviour.
Not about religion at all.

By what logic was it determined that this was "General" discussion material and not more suited for the religion forum?
I think one of us is lost! huh I'm on this thread because I selected "religious chat".

Untitled (God Died)

by Bill Barnes,

God died today in the heart of another man.
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust,
And in this soil a seed is planted.

God died today in the mind of another woman.
The black dirt, the moist earth,
From this new garden, wisdom grows.

I was always taught that God died that I might live.
I never realized how true this was.
His death nourishes the seeds of wisdom, happiness, and freedom.

This is a eulogy, a benediction.
I am saddened by my loss,
But know a better life is ahead of me.

Love and hate marked this relationship.
I loved this mythical invisible father.
I hated the crotchety old judge.

Like the child of an alcoholic,
Or a battered wife, who still loves her husband,
I am glad he’s gone, but I still miss him.

The new garden I have has wonderful plants,
But I still have to pull weeds of doubt and guilt,
It’s my responsibility now.

As a child must grow and leave the safety of home,
I have grown and left the eternal security of heaven.
I have outgrown my god, and laid him to rest.

http://atheistempire.com/writings/poetry.html
:cry: I'm sorry for your loss. My God died, too, but then came back to life, so I too am resurrected into a new life with Him. I wouldn't want a god that I could outgrow! My god is God! Forever! bigsmile

From the net...

If you add up the name 'George Bush' in Hebrew letters it comes out:

* G = 3 (gimel)
* e = 5 (heh)
* o = 70 (ayin)
* r = 200 (resh)
* g = 3 (gimel)
* e = 5 (heh)
* B = 2 (beth)
* u = 70 (ayin)
* s = 300 (shin)
* h = 8 (cheth)
* total = 666 (Antichrist)

George Bush doesn't fit the profile described in Biblical prophecy of the anitchrist. And I'm sure you could find MANY people whose names can add up in this way. As "antichrist", and his i.d. adding up to "666" (or the number somehow otherwise representative of the man) are points out of biblical prophecy, seems incumbant, when speaking on the subject, to study all points surrounding the topic from the Bible itsself, rather than lean on conjecture or mental gymnastics. :heart: flowerforyou

on monday we went to visit a friend from church at the hospital, a group of friends and the priest.
when we were back at the church we stayed for a while talking about several topics.
one of those topics was about satan and related issues.
and i told the priest:
the devil must be the stupidest creature because it knows that it is defeated from the very beginning, yet it still keeps messing around.
And the priest told me that i was right, that satan's problem was its vanity. It's like a person having a mirror really close to his/her face. the only thing that person can see is himself/herself.
I wonder a lot of times how many times I don't do the same. I get blinded by my vanity and my ego and become a stupid creature.

Therefore, I pray:

Dear Daddy from heaven please take away that mirror from my face, and let me see You clearly in Your full glory. Don't let my vanity or any world vanality take my sight away from you.

Amen

it is what is truth to the individual. what is myths to some is history to others. to tell something they are flat out wrong and they are living a fairy tale is nothing more than lack of respect. it may not be a truth to you....but no one should discount someone for not believing as you do

This is true. drinker

I agree...you are speaking truth of religion. Religion does not work. A relationship with Christ is what a Christian is to be of. And that means not willingly hurting others or being disrespectful. It's living from love rather than from being religious to a set of creeds or doctorine. Jesus rebelled against the religious leaders of the day. Religion is religion, whatever the name above the door is.flowerforyou

Christians are just people. Some of us say stupid things, some of us say the wrong thing at the wrong time or to the wrong person. It isn't Christianity's fault...it's the fault of the individual. And we can be our own worst enemy. Can't you? If I saw someone about to ruin their life or something about to kill them, I would want to warn them. And I would urgently to so. It is why I share about what Christ has done in my life and how He loves them. But I also wouldn't shove it down their throats. We are given freedom of choice, and I will respect your choice. But you also have to understand the difference between the religious "Christian" and those that have a relationship with Christ. I am Christian. I believe and only with God's Spirit can I live my belief according to the Bible, but I am not religious. My belief is out of appreciation and love...not out of rules. I can believe your beliefs wrong but I won't bash you or poke fun at you. It wouldn't please God, who loves you. flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou :heart:

I have to say that of the negative things you might hear or say about certain church groups or religions, if I had to estimate, I would say that in general, from my experience, I have seen churches come to the aid of people in need faster and more competently than the government.

If it were not for generous people with heart and for churches, the disaster of New Orleans would have been far more catastrophic than it was.

Where FEMA failed in their plan of disruption and chaos, people saw what was happening and took immediate action to help those people.

FEMA entered the area and purposely disrupted communication towers, actually tore them down, so they would be the only police force in control.

When Local law enforcement discovered this, they repaired the towers so they could communicate and help in the rescue of people and they had to leave guards at the tower to keep it up and to keep FEMA from doing it again.

Some counties, when hearing of what was going on set up road blocks to keep FEMA out.

People in the so-called shelters were not being allowed to leave and they were not being cared for or fed. They were prisoners.

But reporters, and churches and other people, some with money and helicopters, when they learned what was going on, rushed to their aid with food and supplies and water.

Even they were kept from entering the city with their supplies.

This shows me that there are so many good people who are willing to come to each other's aid and the churches play an important roll in organizing these people. Without these organizations in place, there would be chaos in these kinds of things.

I believe that New Orleans was a disaster, but that evil government forces purposely blew up the levies to flood that place in an effort to re-locate that community. I believe that FEMA was practicing Marshall law.

It has been done before in that same city. The levies were blown up on purpose. There was even a book written about it.

I am thankful for the good people who form the churches who do good works for the community.

JB

Most of the money that came to the aide of New Orleans was from churches. As to the blowing up the levies, you really believe that??? You really believe that all these government individuals got together and without any heart, without any morals about posibility of killing, or destroying the lives of people, decided to orchastrate that...just to relocate New Orleans? And you think such a horrible act by the government would not have been exposed? What is the book you alluded to? Is it written by an intelligent, rational, objective person? It was rediculous to have built New Orleans where they did, and everyone but a child knew the possible consequences. I prayed for the people of New Orleans, and sent what I could. I was so glad so many people rushed in to aid. And where are they rebuilding?

there has and always been people that have had there religion misunderstood some have been persicuted for there beliefs some continue to be persicuted. there are many families where someone has been disowned because they have decided that one religion is right for them while there family thinks it is wrong.
lots try to say they live a good christian life while at the same time they are intolerant of any other religion.

me i was raised lds but at the present time in my life i do not find that any religion gives me a sense of peace so i choose to go my own way and try to be a decent person.

I agree that many different religions have been misunderstood and been persecuted. The Bible teaches that we are to love our enemies and bless those who persecute us. Not everyone who calls themselves Christian is. The Bible says you will know them by their love, and by what their lives produce. Where is the love in disowning a relative, or being intolerant to people? Where is the love in callously killing innocents? As to the being intolerant of any other religion (not the person subscribing to it), Jesus said He is the ONLY way to God, and there is no other. He also said that He is God. I'll be happy to look up the scriptures, if you'd like. I love my sister. She isn't a Christian, and she is a homosexual. I hate her lifestyle, and it is contrary to Biblical teaching, but I love her. She knows my beliefs; I have explained to her why I disagree. So we don't need to go on and on about who is right or hate each other. I treat her with respect and I am tolerant of her....just not of her beliefs. There is a difference, but a lot of intolerance comes from the very people who claim Christianity is intolerant. It is! Jesus is! To accepting another religion, not to people. As a Christian, I know that God is exclusive. There is no other way but thru a RELATIONSHIP with Christ Jesus. Not thru any religion. flowerforyou

Well not true :Christians under their beliefs and with some crazy politics had many colonies in many parts of the world .
These colonies suffered and still suffer from their deeds .
How does Jesus fit in all this human tragedy ?.flowerforyou !.

First of all, let me inform you that not everyone who calls himself a Chirstian is. Some are just in a very lucritive business of conning money out of clueless but good-hearted people, some don't really know what the conditions are to being a Christian, and some are religious, just going thru the motions. How do you know which are which? How their lives (overall...no one is perfect, but repentence will show here) line up with the instruction of the Bible. And the Bible teaches to love enemies, study the Bible, believe that Jesus is the Messiah, Who came in the form of man to die as the unblemished sacrifice for man's sins, and to share the faith to prevent others from missing out and going out into an eternity we don't want anyone to have to face. A lot of evil has been done in the name of religion...even Christianity. And that is NOT Christian. Now, would you care to cite examples of Christians caused and continue to cause suffering in colonies around the world? As a Christian, I read prophecies in the Bible that tell of the destruction of earth, of an end-all battle between the god of this world and the true God of all. The reason so many Christians and religious people speak on it is because we believe it. If you did, would you not tell people to "wake up" and be prepared? In Biblical prophecy, the temple will be built.

A person can be religious and not be a Christian. And a person who calls himself a Christian can be just religious. So whether they or you think there is a god or God, is rather relative to their accepted belief. I have a relationship with God, as I know Him personally. I talk to Him, and He talks to me in a variety of ways. Talks to everyone in limited ways, if they allow Him to. Some just can't/won't hear. I choose to hear. Prove love exists. You can't. You can show the manifestations of love, but not love itsself. There are manifestations of God...the entire earth manifests His existance. If you don't want to admit to that, you can't. To know Him is to love Him. Can't help it. Don't want to. love

It would be obviously futile for me to present myself as an intellect. But sometimes we can complicate a thing. A dozen people can witness the same event, and all present a different aspect, and still none be in conflict with another. Did you ever read that poem about the group of blind men fron Hindustan who went to see the elephant, tho all were blind? One felt the tail and said he knew the elephant was like a rope. Each, in turn, felt(or witnessed)a different part of the elephant and made a decision as to what the elephant looked like. They were each right according to their personal witness. Without someone there to correct and instruct them, to pull each observation together, they were wrong, even while they were right. Every man who wrote in the Bible was guided by the Holy Spirit. Paul spoke of what he personally saw and heard, as did the rest. Without the Spirit, there is incomplete truth or downright false belief. No man can understand Truth without the Spirit. Intellectualism is no help without it. Great intellects accept the Bible as the unerrant Word of God, and so do simple-minded or uneducated people. Thank God! That's why there's hope for me! Without the Bible, or with the inclusion of any other book deemed on par with or superceed it, a religion, according to the Bible itsself, cannot be Christian. I refer you to "Evidence That Demands a Verdict", "Kingdom of the Cults", and "A Ready Defense". Dr. Walter Martin and Josh McDowell, are highly intelligent men and great apologists. Another is Dr. KP Yohannan, from India.

I've studied about the Mormon religion, and how it began, and by whom, and their personal lives. I know that FLDS is very different in many things. I'm not Mormon. Some people just don't study into things before making remarks or believing something. They will, if it's important enough to them. Until then, we all have areas of mis- or poor information.
