I have the same problem with men. Seem like all they want is no strings hook-ups and not an actual relationship. It's frustrating. I hope you find what you're looking for!

I hear ya there! I have a kid to feed and I live in one of the most expensive cities in the US!! I tried eHarmony and there were like a billion questions to answer just to sign up. No thanks! Guess I'll just have to be patient and cautious for now. Frustrating!

This is all really interesting as I am relatively new here and still learning the ropes. I actually prefer to chat on my Yahoo messenger with someone I meet and am interested in on here just because its easier for me, especially if I'm at work or something. Now I may need to reconsider that. I definitely don't give out my number or anything until I'm sure I'm dealing with a real person, but how do you know? I was hesitant to enter the online dating pool because of the horror stories I've heard, but I have a really hard time meeting people in the real world because of my busy schedule. Do the pay sites like Match and eHarmony have a lot of fakes and spammers too? *sigh*, what's a lonely girl to do?

That's really sweet. My experience in life, and on this site specifically, is that most men are only looking for something casual and fleeting. As a woman who is also looking for something real and long-term, it's refreshing to hear about a man who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to admit it. I doubt you will have trouble finding her and I wish you luck and love in the new year!

I agree with pinksmartie. You need to post a good picture or two of yourself to let people know who they are talking to. In my experience, if someone doesn't post a photo it's because they are hiding from someone (wife or girlfriend), or they have something to hide. Make sure the photos are oriented the right way, show a close up of your face and/or a full body, they are recent, and don't have another woman in them since you can't add a caption to explain who they are. Also, fill out your profile completely and honestly and make sure the messages you send are respectful and interesting. Not everyone will respond, but it should help. Good luck to you!
