What are you saying exactly? I don't think God would want sacrifices. So, like, before I answer this.. one thing I foresee and wish to avoid: 1. This is just my opinion so if you ask for "proof", no, I don't have any because it is just my thoughts. That said.. ..I just don't believe, or think it's just that simple, how we, as a society, believe "God" to be like. By "like" I mean all-forgiving, all-knowing, all-guy next door-ish. I just don't envision a "guy", no matter how "powerful" living/surviving for as long as, or even before the; birth of the entire galaxy... Not being just the tad-bit.. eh, what's the word that's not "cruel".... ..well, to avoid an "insult", let us just use our imaginations? -.- |

You do realize..
That this: Exactly. Adam and Eve may have been full grown, but they were still like little kids. A sin is willingly being disobedient to the father, Adam and Eve wasn't doing that persay. They had no clue what they were doing more or less. Combined with this: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die ..points to two things I have an issue with. 1. How can you be "tempted" or know that if you disobey your elder/parent (or in this case "God") you said act is actually evil/bad? How is banishment a "fair" or "just" punishment? 2. Also on that note; "in the day", by that wording, is/was a blatant lie and he was discovered as such the minute they didn't "die" whence they ate the "fruit". Hmmmmmmm....... So, it's almost unfair to blame the Serpent, and even more so unjust to blame Ever, then Adam... ..who's left to blame? o.O |

THIS IS A So you think a merciful, forgiving, ever-loving God would want this? THIS IS B OK, I think you're starting to "get it"... If you don't agree with sacrifice, then you shouldn't think God does either... Because he doesn't... If I agreed with A, then B makes sense and as well is expected. However... This is where our opinions different/vary. Simply because I don't believe A. Which, ultimately, makes not only B an idea, but a possibility. |

WOW last night I had a bit of a spiritual realization. An awakening of sorts - about what true reality is. I find it hard to put into words. But I can say that this world of duality (good and evil) is mostly an illusion. And there is a true reality. ..The way you worded this.. Reminds me of my pothead days.. -.- |

LOL, sorry, I knew I should have re-asked and got a clarified answer. So the simple answer from you would be "no, it's NOT divine" then? Disregarding everything you've been taught, you think it's sick and demented yourself, right? Then yes, I agree. The "divine" word is throwing me off. xD The act - yes, demented. But I do believe the origin itself - is "from God". |

Sin_and_Sorrow...JESUS was FULLY man AS WELL as FULLY GOD. (Jesus was NOT just a mere human being ) !!!! NO MERE human could EVER pay for our sins. PLUS...GOD WAS AGAINST HUMAN SACRIFICES !!!!!! ONLY INFINITE GOD could pay the price for INFINITE sin !!!! EVER!!!! Again.... THAT IS WHY IT WAS GOD HIMSELF ( THRU GOD THE SON), ON THAT CROSS FOR US. GOD STEPPED DOWN (THRU GOD THE SON) AND PAID FOR OUR SINS IN FULL AT CALVARY. THERE IS NO GREATER LOVE !! JESUS.......FULLY MAN AS WELL AS FULLY GOD !!! GOD HAS TO BECOME MAN TO PAY THE PRICE...BUT AGAIN ,THAT WAS NOT NOT NOT JUST SOME MERE MAN ON THAT CROSS....THAT WAS GOD HIMSELF (GOD THE SON) ON THAT CROSS !!! GOTTA RUN....BE BLESSED NOW !!! ..wait, when did I say Jesus was just a mere man? o.O As I'm sure, like a prediction of sorts, you will say: "That is not the right context." I will denote the following: Genesis 22:2 "And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of." Exodus 22:29 "Thou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits, and of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me." Numbers 31:25-29 "And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Take the sum of the prey that was taken, both of man and of beast, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the chief fathers of the congregation: And divide the prey into two parts; between them that took the war upon them, who went out to battle, and between all the congregation: And levy a tribute unto the Lord of the men of war which went out to battle: one soul of five hundred, both of the persons, and of the beeves, and of the *****, and of the sheep: Take it of their half, and give it unto Eleazar the priest, for an heave offering of the LORD." 1 Kings 13:2 "And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men's bones shall be burnt upon thee". 2 Kings 23:20 "And he slew all the priests of the high places that were there upon the altars, and burned men's bones upon them." 2 Chronicles 34:1-5 "Josiah ... did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord ... And he burnt the bones of the priests upon their altars." |

You wanna hear an explanation, here it is (for the atonement question)... You and others feel that it is divine to kill something (even a human) to make up for wrongs that you have done. I bet you would cry "unfair" if you were the sacrifice. It shows a lack of morals and a disrespect for life. That's like saying "Sorry I got caught stealing, instead of me making amends, howsabout you kill something (or someone) to make up for it instead." It's a cop-out. One that applies when people are afraid to man up to their own actions. A pus*y's way out... Wait, back up. 1. I meant an explanation as to my answer, t'was what I meant. 2. I only agreed, or in this case, stated "Yes, I feel it is 'divine'." Not that I actually agreed with the concept, only that I feel it is divine. Unless I'm mistaken, divine means to be "of, from God, or God-like". Thus, perhaps I misunderstood the question. In other words, I only believe the origin (idea) of sacrifice itself is divine, or via, "created by the idea" of God and a way to "please" him. I feel this way, ultimately, because I've not met a religion to date that, in some way or fashion, didn't at one point "demand" such. Christianity, the Egyptians, etc. Some form of sacrifice, animal or otherwise, plays/has a similar presence in every religion. In Christianity, imo, Jesus was actually meant to be the "final" sacrifice. So that this "older" tradition was no longer void and/or valued and/or even acceptable. So this part of your response: It's a cop-out. One that applies when people are afraid to man up to their own actions. A pus*y's way out...
I 150% agree with. So, my mistake, I think? Cause although I believe it to be "divine" in that manner I mentioned, I do NOT however, agree nor would partake in it. |

Yes, I do. Simple enough? Wow, I didn't expect u to answer. Simple enough... That's why we could never be friends... LOL ..sorry struck me as humorous that, that would be why you'd think that. I figured it best to keep the answer short. I mean really, why over complicate things with an explanation? xD |

...Man... Still being illiterate I see? Meh, whatever. If you actually read his response.. ..he did answer your questions, then asked his own. If anyone is "deflecting".. it's not Creative. ..just saying. Wow, just WOW! I asked a forthright question and he answered by asking a question that I had already answered... Get off your knees, your IQ is showing... ..blind too, eh? xD I must be 'cause all I see are irrelevant questions designed to deflect instead of giving direct answers... Of course I don't expect you to answer those direct questions either. "Simple... Do you think that killing an animal or a human to "atone" for your sins is divine?" "If you are going to claim that Hitler passed the "heart" test, you will have to testify that you agree with his actions." Care to answer either of those? **Same prediction applies for Sin_and_Sorrow** plus added ad-hom Yes, I do. Simple enough? |

I said the same thing about the Lions before this last season, should have put money on it. The Lions are my second team next to the Steelers. Arguably the best and worst teams in NFL history. As for the topic, they should have kept Manning and let him finish his career where it started. It is business though and cutting him loose is probably best for their team since they are rebuilding and basically have all new staff. Time to let go of the old ways and that includes Manning. He will be off to another team that probably has the ability to be a contender with him under center, and hopefully good O-line protection. Maybe this way he has a better shot at 2 rings like his little brother. Yeah, Lions shocked me, that's for sure. I can't even recall the last time I was watching NFL.. ..and watching the Bears vs the Lions and thinking.. We NEED this win, or the Lions will take 2nd. o.O Now, I don't care which team does better this year (Bears/Lions) ..but I despise the Packers, so as long as they both do better then them I'll be content. I'd really like to see a Super Bowl with teams who either haven't been in a Bowl before OR teams that haven't been there in a long, long, long time.. Like.. Lions vs Browns. (For example) :O xD |

"A guy wants to marry a guy, *shrug* so what, their choice. A girl wants to marry a horse, *shrug* so what, her choice. This guy wants to be a girl, again, who cares.." I also find these things to be 'not ok' I cant force my beliefs on anyone but in a forum, I can give an opinion when asked, and mine is that life is too precious to take for granted when we are in 'pain' if we wish to end our lives, that is of course our decision however, I dont wish to see it 'legalized' because to me thats validating a choice that if government truly stays out of shouldnt be validated by that same government I also dont wish to see it more admirable and accessible and 'normal' for people to 'give up' on their lifes prematurely,,, Marking them as "acceptable" to your own morals/beliefs is NOT a legitimate reason as to why they should be outlawed/illegal. Think about it for a second. When a gay couple marries, does someone else die/suffer from such? When a "boy" turns into a "girl" does someone else die/suffer? Granted, these situations may cause "emotional" distress, but at the same time, is this not the "pain" you speak of as well? So, when a person chooses "death" over "life" does someone else die/suffer? This, again of course, is outside emotionally. They are all but life style choices that you, as an individual, should have the "right" to choose to partake in, or walk away from; but ultimately, how is it anyone's right to decide or judge another person's choices? So, yes, I understand you are "against" the idea; but because you are, I am, and perhaps six others on Mingle, there may just be a few who are for it. Six to two odds, in retro, would mean that our "morals" outweigh theirs making them "lesser". I mean, isn't this a similar concept in which our nation was actually founded on? Rights, liberties, freedoms. You have the "right" to "live". So, why is the idea of having the "right" to "die" so taboo? I mean, mistake me if I'm wrong, but I don't even think it's illegal (anymore) to "attempt" suicide. Granted, if you survive and aren't brain dead, paralyzed, etc; you are "forced" to receive psychiatric assistance; but it still isn't illegal. So, ultimately, which is better? Having people leaping off of random buildings and splattering themselves all over your sidewalk ..or.. ..doing it quietly, peacefully, away from the public? I doubt your kids would be quite as traumatized, imo, since it wouldn't be "broad casted" on the news and in the media. ..and hey, another bonus, cause now you opened up a new job market. That's like a win-win-win situation. :P Better than... .....____________________ , ,__ ....../ `---___________----_____] - - - - - - - - ░ ▒▓▓█D ...../_==o;;;;;;;;_______.:/ .....), ---.(_(__) / ....// (..) ), ----" ...//___// ..//___// .//___// .."death by cop".. |
