Hmmmm. Yes, I've had such an experience. Got to know a fellow online for a couple of weeks. Hit it off really well. First time we were to meet, he stood me up. Second time we met, I didn't know who he was when he walked through the door, because he didn't match his picture. I couldn't believe someone would do that! I guess my naievety was showing....
Anyway, as we talked, I discovered that he wasn't Sepaated, either, but lived with his supposedly estranged wife and kids. Also, he had lied to me about where he worked and his name. After that, I couldn't really believe anything that came out of his mouth, so that was the end of that. Thankfully, it didn't go very far, but I was embarrassed. Later on, I was doing a search for other possible matches, and it turned out he had two other profiles, all with pictures of the same false other guy, and false info in the write up. Jeez. Made me shake my head.
