I'm an Arts person.grew up around unique and colorful individuals. What I've learned, is that "normal" does not exist in life, love, and everything else! That is why I love people. They are so interesting. I wish people were less afraid to be themselves - including me- because things could be easier. I not only accept the variety of people In the world, but enjoy it.
I am open-minded, and think I would miss out on a lot of enriching experiences if I wasn't. I know people all over the world because I am open to meeting people and communing with them in the moment. What fun! |

Bad guys vs Confident men

Studies actually show it is not confidence that attracts women, but a man's ability to be indifferent to them Where do you get this stuff? If I wanted a man who was indifferent to me, I would buy a blow up one. |

It's great when a guy talks about how he's feeling -ooh, ick! Feelings- and what is going on with him. I enjoy the discovery process. I don't assume or guess what people are thinking, I like to be given the straight goods. No guessing games, please.

A 40 year old man who has never been married... mmmmm what questions would go through (most) people's minds? I can only speak for myself. Here are some ideas... I jest of course. 1. He is shy and does not know how to approach women and can't stand rejection. (I consider that to be a social dysfunction and lack of confidence, but it can be dealt with and corrected.) 2. He is a Mama's boy. (He still lives with his mother and can't bare the thought of leaving home.) (another social dysfunction) 3. He's gay and still in the closet. 4. He is a functioning alcoholic or an addict, and has been since young adulthood. 5. He prefers young boys. 6. He has deep dark secrets that are illegal or he is ashamed of, and he refuses to get close to anyone. 7. His sexual needs are taken care of by a blow up doll or some other way, and he doesn't really like real women who talk back. Note: Guys: Don't blame not having enough money, not being good looking, or not being charming enough, because there is some woman out there who wants YOU and they don't care about any of that. Or maybe they just never met anyone that they wanted to marry. Sometimes you just can't make the right connection no matter how hard you try and I speak this from my own experience. Some of us were just not meant to every marry. This is exactly what I was thinking, navygirl. Some reonsible men, also want o be established in thir career before getting married (and maybe starting a family). If you don't find someone you want to be with, there is no reason to get married. I also know that marriage is not for everyone. it is hard work. The article was an interesting read. I m always suspicious of the royal "they" of public opinion. I wonder who has been interviewed to gather the general views from. |

I really hope the water levels slow down. I'm glad you are on dry ground. I used to live in Calgary, and know ther are lots of low spots! Here in Edmonton, things are currently fine. My hats off to all the service men and women who render aid in such emergencies. I read that there are major roads out/closed, too. Stay close to home and be safe!

Sure, it's possible. Anything is possible. Finding your love in the grocery store or in line at the bank is right up there! Give it time. The more people you interact with, the better your chances of finding someone for you.

OH GIVE ME A BREAK!!
|

Anybody who thinks women are weaker has obviously never watched a good fight on Jerry Springer. LOL. No, seriously, you ever see the wife go after the other woman in real life??? Women can be vicious. Like freaking wolverines. You cannot break up a good biotch fight. And women can be WAY vindictive when scorned. We can hold a grudge a lot a lot a lot longer. Men just beat the carp out of each other and it's over. Women can be pizzed for decades. You think peeing in someone's food is messed up?? You do not want to even know the sick stuff I know of women doing for revenge. Some of you guys would go in the closet and whimper and babble about wanting your mommy if you know some of the cheesed off women I know. Oh and what Jeannie said about men could not handle squeezing out babies through their wee wees. I doubt most could handle monthly cramps. Don't jump me. I said MOST not all. We have some tough guys on here would could probably carry a baby nine months, give birth and breast feed like Hippie, Boone and Dodo. My thoughts, exactly! There are no rules when women fight. All bets are off. I bet Hippie, Boone and Dodo might be able to do childbirth without meds, too. Psychology is fascinating- preconceptions about gender roles are fostered from day one of a baby's life, and then, often unconsciously directed by the parents as they grow up. Equality is valued in some cultures, but not others. Personally, I think it is more important to look at what an individual has to offer, first, before considering gender. I have experienced chauvinism and ageism throughout my life, and it is very frustrating. It is very interesting to see how advances in technology (I.e. access to information and schooling) is affecting a shift in developing nations. Everyone us unique, but we are all human. |
