I was just wondering why black neighborhoods don't have citizens that patrol their own streets? Black neighborhoods have higher crime rates and murders than any others. Businesses do not want to open in black neighborhoods.I guess that they prefer to have gangs and thugs do it for them? I know that here, black communities keep re-electing crooked black politicians again and again. And then they blame the white politicians for their bad neighborhoods and conditions. Just wondering. Well first off, this appears to be a white racist post made by someone who is ignorant to non whites. Second, just as all poor areas of the US, THEY ALL HAVE CRIMINAL PROBLEMS BECAUSE BEING POOR TENDS TO BREED CERTAIN ILLS IN A LARGER RATE THAN BEING BETTER OFF. AGAIN all poor areas have similar crime rates no matter what the populace looks like. Only those whites who are ignorant to other people make generalizations like this. I'm just asking the question. Why does it have to be racist to ask? Why do some always yell racism and call others racist? Is it ignorance or just hate? Perhaps if black communities would ask these same questions they might find meaningful answers instead of crying racism every time. That,my friend, may one of their problems. And, are you sure that I'm white? Why don't all poor neighborhoods patrol their neighborhoods? Why does it have to be about one race or another? That makes it racist. Also one doesn't have to be white to spread ignorant white racist ideals around so it doesn't matter what race you are. |

Obama Tax Returns 2011: President And First Lady Release Returns
By ANNE GEARAN 04/13/12 11:56 AM ET AP WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama and his family paid more than $160,000 in federal taxes last year on earnings of $789,674, the White House said Friday. The president's 2011 federal income tax return shows that about half of the first family's income is the president's salary. The rest comes from sales of Obama's books. Obama's effective tax rate is just above 20 percent – lower than many Americans who earn less. He has made tax-rate fairness a campaign issue, arguing that millionaires and other very wealthy people should not pay a smaller share of their incomes in taxes than people who earn much less. "He believes that people like him should be paying an effective tax rate that is no lower than the rate paid by hard-working, middle-class Americans," White House press secretary Jay Carney said Friday. The White House did not say exactly what rate Obama thinks would have been fair for him in 2011, but using a calculator posted on the White House web site, more than 56,000 millionaires would have paid taxes at a lower rate. Obama's proposed "Buffett Rule" would not have applied to him last year, since he earned less than $1 million. The plan is named for Warren Buffett, the billionaire investor who has complained that rich people like him pay a smaller share of their income in federal taxes than middle-class taxpayers do. Many wealthy taxpayers earn investment income, which is taxed at 15 percent. Obama has proposed that people earning at least $1 million annually – whether in salary or from investments – should pay at least 30 percent of their incomes in taxes. The push for the realignment draws renewed attention to the effective tax rate of presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, a millionaire who is paying 15.4 percent in federal taxes for 2011 on income mostly derived from investments. By contrast, the top nominal rate for taxpayers with high incomes derived from wages, not investments, is 35 percent. The White House released a copy of the president's tax return, which also shows charitable donations of more than $172,000. Obama is donating after-tax proceeds from his children's book to the Fisher House Foundation. The charity helps veterans and military families receiving medical treatment. The family tax return is fairly simple by the standards of wealthy people with multiple assets and sources of income. Obama listed his two daughters as dependents and his occupation as "U.S. President." Michelle Obama listed her occupation as "U.S. First Lady." They listed 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. as their primary address. The first family reported income of $1.7 million for 2010, much of it from the sale of the president's books. They paid federal taxes of $453,770. Their adjusted gross income for 2010 was far below the $5.5 million they reported for 2009, also mostly from book sales. Carney said Obama earned even less in 2011 because of "fluctuations" in book sales. For Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, this year's tax return looks almost identical to last year's. Returns for 2011 released by the White House show the Bidens paid $87,900 in federal taxes on adjusted gross income of $379,035. Their income was $143 below their 2010 return, but their tax bill was $1,274 higher. In both cases, the effective tax rate was just over 23 percent. On the latest return, the Bidens listed $5,540 in donations to charity. Most of the couple's income came from the vice president's salary of $225,521 and Mrs. Biden's wages of just over $82,000 for teaching at Northern Virginia Community College. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/13/obama-tax-returns-2011_n_1423513.html?ncid=edlinkusaolp00000009 I guess he had no need for the off shore accounts like Romney, eh? |

AMERICAN WOMEN IS THIS TRUE?

The whole article is nothing but generalizations from one "maybe man's" point of view.
There are men who love larger women, stronger minded women, women with flip flops on, etc... If any of that scares them then maybe they should only date the sheepish women who want to follow them to hell and back. Which sheepish or docile women live all over the world. I have known a few here in the states myself. |

Some things in the world are so disgusting they make you want to throw up.
It is good to see they are finally going to do the job they should have done from the beginning. You know white racists consider the life of a non white pretty dispensable, demonstrated here by their lack of action and in many other situations in this country. |

All of this should have been done already under Bush. If it wasn't they are pretty lax. I am sure it is something Bush started a while back.

I don't look for blame anymore because it is a dead end and doesn't help in self discovery and resolution.
So "is it me or them" is irrelevant. I look inwards first. I have chosen men whose life path was completely different from mine and they were the bringer of lessons for me to learn about myself. I am still learning. I am hoping to find a companion to share the joys of life with but I am okay without them. It took me a long time to REALLY get to this point in life, I used to say the words but there was no base behind them other than trying to sound strong. |

I really can't picture what humans will look like in a thousand years if they/we survive. But hopefully we will have learned how to stop poisoning our environment and/or have found a way to travel to another planet that can sustain us.
I know I saw that women were going to be fatter in the future because women who have rounder hips and more fat are producing more children in our time and their offspring seems to be healthier therefore making the lineage carry on. |

Are you the kind of person who wants to discuss it right then and try to work it out? Do you normally need time to cool off first? What usually works for you? Both. It depends on the situation. I don't get angry too often but when I do, I definitely have to cool down. |

What do you think is worse on a first date? No physical attraction, or absolutely nothing to talk about? Why? Nothing to talk about. I recently went to a meet with a guy from another site and I think he was overly nervous or too into me or something because he wanted to keep touching me but his conversation was not good. I let him know afterwards that there wasn't anything there but we could be friends. He hasn't written or anything since so he wasn't happy with that. |

Recovery from religion...
|
|
What speaks volumes towards the 'motives' of the athiests? Perhaps the single minded pursuit of interference in the lives of the religious gives us a clue as to the segment of population that is afraid of being left behind. They constantly interfere with everyones right to be what they are... Instead requiring the Religious to be silent at schools, silent in public places, and silent in political circles... Just look at all the laws they have brought forth. I sense fear... Else why attack anyone that has been sucessful (and did so by faith). You are joking, right? Or else you are speaking of someone else, not this ex religious person here. I have outgrown religion. It no longer serves a purpose for me and there are others who have grown this far also. I started this thread for them and those who are on their way there or need to know that is okay to be there in their growth. No fear here, fear, that is the job of religion, to create fear and control through it. I am speaking to those who are past that. Identify this "illness" that you claim the religious have... If you do not see the illness of religion itself then you are not ready for recovery. It is not for you. I think I see the illness now. You'll recover one day... Hope you get well soon! LOL, I am better than good here. |

My fasting blood sugar level came back as 119. My doc sent a letter saying the tests came back normal, but I am aware of borderline diabetes. Has anyone had an luck in lowering their numbers and reversing it? My mother is a type 2 diabetic. I sure don't want to end up there. I have been diagnosed as full blown diabetic and have mine under control with diet and exercise. No medication. I gave up almost all white bread, noodles, cereal, rice, potatoes. I only eat them in very small portions once a week or less. Usually as a treat if I go out to eat. I eat pumpernickel bread, wassa bread, dark rye bread in moderation when I have sandwiches and only open faced sandwiches (using one slice with the meat and cheese on top of it. Meat and veges. Natural peanut butter, the one without the hydrogenated oil Almonds the raw ones Low fruit but I do that because I am full blown diabetic, fruit is good for you if your sugar is under control NO JUICE!!!!!!! My treats are dark chocolate with peanut butter or the raw almonds and 2 percent milk. I drink soy milk most of the time to keep my cholesterol down. NO JUICE!!!!! FAKE SUGARS RAISE YOUR BLOOD SUGAR so they are just as bad for you as real sugar if you are diabetic. I have MS so I have to do low impact exercise. I walk weather allowing 2-3 miles three times a week. I have lots of pain just doing that but it still works great for keeping the blood sugar down. |

What's in a kiss?
|
|
How important is kissing to you? Do first kisses mean a lot to you? Have you become more attracted to someone because of a kiss? Less attracted? Do you kiss on first dates? Do you have to know someone for a certain amount of time before you'll kiss them? Have you ever dated someone or not dated someone because of a kiss? Can you tell anything about a person by the way they kiss? I don't know if you remember one of my post from a while back but a man I met from another site kissed horribly and he lost his chance from it. He opened his mouth too wide and spit up my face and tried to stick his tongue down my throat, it was disgusting. Nice man but I couldn't go through that again. I really wish women would teach men different than just dealing with it and letting them form these terrible habits for those of us who have to deal with them later on. I have been telling the men friends I have about any bad habits I see them do that will cause them problems when dating. I don't know if they will apply it but it will help them if they did. There was a guy I kissed earlier this year who was absolutely horrible. I kept thinking it might get better and it didn't. I don't understand how someone can be that bad at kissing. Yea and at this age it really shouldn't be happening. But the women in their lives before never bothered to show them a better way. I would try to teach now but their egos seem to get more sensitive as they age so it makes it tricky. |
