I just joined a few days ago and I've already started getting to know a couple of peoepl in my area and a couple that live out of state. I don't know what's going to happen but it's just nice to meet new people even if nothing romantic comes of it.

Last stuff I bought was when I went to Target and bought some pajama pants, flip-flops and some lip gloss.

There was one vote for Crest and one for Aquafresh. How is that unanimous?

I think you have to remember not to have expectations. If you keep an open mind and don't have expectations you won't get disappointed.

Also, if you are emailing someone and they don't respond within the same day or a couple of days you have to remember that not everyone is logged in 24/7. Some people have things to do and check in when they have time.

However, if someone is ignoring you then you have to understand that maybe they aren't into you and don't know how to let you down in a nice way. Just move on. With all of the people on this site you will eventually find someone that is into you.

Well said FreshMountainAir. I think a lot of guys (not all) that complain about not being able to find a date and claim to be nice have other issues going on than just being too nice. In my experience these "nice" guys are often clingy, needy and looking for a relationship to validate them. It's not unlike many women I know. Being nice isn't a bad thing. You can still be nice and have confidence, ambition and know what you want and how to get it.

I respond to all emails unless the person is being creepy, weird or nasty. I guess some of it has to do with the people you are writing to. Maybe you are writing to people that are self-absorbed, shallow and have no concept of manners. In that case, maybe you are better off that they don't respond!

If a guy starts talking about marriage after only a week that sends huge red flags up for me. I'm a romantic, but the odds of a relationship that moves that fast really working out long term are not good. I'm sure there are exceptions, but those are few.

Although at the time I didn't see it, reading that made me realize that my last relationship was abusive. I did all of those things. I was isolated, critisized and pushed around. I was always watching to see if he was upset and tried not to make him mad. I'm just glad it's over. Thanks for the great post.
