Age does matter. I don't know how many times I have to say this on here. Picture this : You're a guy 21 years old and meet a woman 41 and things are good. After a couple of years you want to have children. it becomes a challenge for women in their 40's to have children. It's a health risk. catinidaho

Its never happened to me personally, but I know others that it has.

Some people can be attracted to someone over time, and some like me cant.

Some of us knows within 30 seconds of meeting if they are friends material or lover material.

And some its just a matter of time, patience, fate and luck.

nothing is written in stone but its not carved in butter either.

And you know they are bullying them how??

You do know that parents that work there also brings their kids right?

Families over there are not receiving any social assistance, tell me you know that at least?

anything can be 'better than starving to death' relatively speaking, drug dealing, prostituting kids, slavery,,,, et cetera. it doesnt make it any less terrible for kids who have no other choice. It makes it quite deplorable in fact if its done by the threat that they otherwise have to starve. msharmony

You don't live in a third world country , its easy to criticize when you're in your air conditioned home with food in the fridge, running water and a nice bed to sleep in

Drug dealing eh? you do know what happens to drug dealers when they are caught right?

Being spit on is not as bad as being spit on and SLAPPED, that doesnt suddenly make being spit on a viable and excusable offense. msharmony

huh? getting kicked in the nuts with steel toe boots is not as bad as being shot or stabbed in the nuts too, so what is your point?

Id rather have children BEG than be abused and exploited, and all three are OPTIONS, so there is not much excuse to choose the most dehumanizing.

Im for humane and equitable treatment of people ESPECIALLY children. msharmony

you rather have children begging for change vs working and earning some money that helps them rather than the measly change they get?

You are heartless.

I dont get frappucinos from Walmart, but I will think of the millions who are employed in honest and humane conditions that can pay their rent, as well as the copouts who say you cant have/support honest and humane without ACCEPTING/supporting the inhumane to get it

when Im shopping at Walmart for other things.

yes and kids in third world countries are standing in line waiting to pay for their frappuccinos and ice cappuccinos as they ready to go to work in a factory or begging in the streets...oh wait there are no starbucks in those places where they live, as they live in huts, with no running water, their bathroom is an outhouse if they have one.

and if they caught begging by the local police they are beaten because they don't want them near certain tourist place

yes but you want them to beg vs working and earning something that will help their parents pay for food and such.

yeah.

Got to love it when the left brings up slave labour and child labour as they buying their products at walmart or wherever one shops for discount stuff.

Child labour while horrible to us in the west is a necessary thing for families to survive in those countries.

Child labour is better than the alternative of them starving to death, begging on the street or the unthinkable being used for prostitution ( makes my stomach turn when I hear this)

Child labour guarantees they have some money to feed their family and the wages they earn more than makes up for their poverty and some of them actually saves and moves up and even a few caught the entrepreneur bug like Li Ka-shing had to work in a factory after his father died when he was 15 years old.

Or Zhou Qunfei started off as a migrant worker ( you know paid like crap) but worked her way up caught the entrepreneur bug and today is one of the richest women in China

If one child is saved from a life of begging , prostitution or starving to death, Im all for it.

Remember the poor people as you're walking through Walmart sipping your frappuccino

It is all over the political discussions in in the political rhetoric, one only has to listen closer.

in the idea that people on the one end(poverty) should have only scraps to motivate them to produce more msharmony

they should motivate themselves if they want to get out of poverty, many have.

but the people on the other end(wealth) should receive bonus after bonus and perk after perk in order to motivate them to produce moremsharmony

it works though.

in the idea that people's lives are expendable based upon how 'fearful' other people feel of them in a confrontation coupled with how much more likely it is for the system to forgive, overlook or adequately defend the wealthy and their crimes than they are the poor and theirs msharmony

you mean like how the 68 year old woman in Chicago riding the subway who was suckered punch by a thug and has lost her vision

you mean how the woman in Dallas Texas stopping in for gas with her two young children in the back seat only to be car jacked, luckily she had a gun, or are these outliers?

in the idea that anyone who cannot pay for the IMAGE of perfect morality, should be subject and expendable to the police state

the underlying classist system of protections and praise and 'merit' branding for the haves

and the simultaneous system of harsh and strict standards for everyone else, and the image that they arent doing or giving ENOUGH, and dont have 'merit' as much as those who have enough or more than enough

these things are NEVER framed as the haves and the have nots, but that is how their benefits and obstacles end up breaking down ...msharmony

Who said life is fair, such is life.. here is something Msharmony, why dont we tell people to obey the law, it works for all citizens.

I had an argument with someone who said to me Eric Garner did not deserve to die, and I agreed, but I added perhaps if Eric wasnt selling bootleg cigarettes you know "breaking the law" he might not have been in that situation.

Plus he could have lost some weight perhaps try what Oprah was pushing

Technology is causing isolationism.
Automated factories, cell phones, home gaming systems, home delivery, in-store pickup, and on and on...
All keeping people from interacting with each other. Tom4Uhere

All this is called progress Tom, what is wrong with that? have you ever done factory work? its dull , boring, I watched one of my friends dad work in one and he looked so bored, working for a paycheque at a job to survive is a horrible way to live.

all those technologies produced jobs that werent available decades ago, and higher paying jobs.

Racism is rampant but the inequality is beyond race or gender or religion now. People are bigoted to other people in general. Prejudiced against anyone not within their shrinking circle of trust. Strangers are to be feared, untrustworthy and avoided.Tom4Uhere

racism and inequities are two different topics

Ask yourself why racism exists today Tom?

As in inequity that is another topic for another day, people are bigoted towards people, its always been that way Tom, every ethnicity known to man has experienced bigotry, that is just mankind

It doesn't make it right but its reality, I rather face bigotry in an advanced society vs a second or third world society.

It all perpetuates thru the generations to a larger degree over time.
The insecurities of the parents are taught to their children as life lessons. Often by example not by instruction. Children learn by watching the adults in their lives. If the parents don't have time to teach their children, their children will learn their life lessons from other sources, even bad sources.Tom4Uhere

Maybe they shouldn't have had children, this is a valuable lesson to teach to teenagers and those in their early 20's who believe raising children as a single parent is a right because they can reproduce.

Those with higher education and of a higher socio economic status understands this more than those on the lower scale.

Watch now a certain poster will accuse me of being bigoted to the poor.

( which is not the case)

I dont believe we can measure strictly in dollars when speaking HISTORICALLY about wealth..msharmony

who said we did?

as the value of dollars have changed and are worth more or less than the same dollars of another age..msharmony

Irreverent , doesn't matter if you're on the gold standard, gold exchange, fiat or silver dollars and gold coins. if you have more assets than liabilities that is how its measured.

the millionaires of old, relatively speaking, would still be the 1% relative the the average incomes and wealth of others in the nation.

But lets hope the wealthy and powerful dont continue to push down and dehumanize everyone/ de-value everyone else.msharmony

give us an example of who is doing this to society?

I dont agree, the 1% people move in and out of the 1%, history has proven that.

In America's golden age how many were in the 1%, the Rockefellers, Vanderbilts, Westinghouse etc.

In the 1920's known as the roaring 20's saw the rise of the 1%

in the 1960's not one black Billionaire

skip forward to the new millenium how many billionaires exists today, and how many of them are black, how many of them are from Communist China.

how many of the 1% the Rockefellers, Vanderbilts are in the top 100?

people come and go in the 1%, yes I know about the The Bilderberg meetings and others like it.

In America if one is fortunate and has the skill you can do it and make it into the 1% .

when I say individualism i'm referring to the economic system of a society, not socially.

Community is always important and speaking of community , your American society used to be a community, particularly in smaller towns and suburbs but it didn't always extend to certain groups and this where the government drop the ball.

I blame racism squarely on the government followed by media.

I don't believe technology is isolating most folks, I think those with limited social skills are hampered by technology particularly the social and dating sites.

Back in my day kids at school were forced to do activities with other kids, play , exercise and encouraged to socialized.

Today not so much, today we are worried about offending people , parents hands are tied when it comes to discipling their children assuming they have the maturity to even be parents.

Teachers are not equipped to deal with the problems of today's youth lack of discipline and respect.

Kids today are not taught how to cope and deal with issues, instead of learning how to cope they are medicated beyond what they should be , their diet is poor, limited or lack of exercise , lack of respect and poor education producing sheeples.

Look at today's colleges and universities, it used to be an institution where thinkers met and are developed, today its producing sheeples , pansies and spoiled brats and you wonder why school shooting have increased?

Sorry to read about your disability and being cut off from the world.

At least you have access to the things that you enjoy , "movies" .

Truth be told Tom, the world is always changing and revolving, whether your productive or not.

Things are changing so fast and problems have always existed, if one studies history you will see what problems existed what they tried to do about it and how more problem arose.

Nothing new really, but things have improved in many areas, its just today we are living through it and your grandkids kids will look back and study us but they will be facing their own problems and issues.

Look at any problem today and you will see that government policies caused the majority of problems, yet people blame capitalism for some reason.

We need to educate the youth about politics and how a group of politicians backed by unscrupulous individuals, companies, unions and who ever has power can corrupt the system.
