WBAP for talk radio in Texas, 820 on the a.m. radio dial. Can't recall the call letters, or location on the dial... But, Canadian based station 'The Bear' had decent music. You can stream it on your computer. I have Bear on my radio app on my phone. Enjoy listening to radio oin my car. You may not know this but Norway is the first country in the world that has shut down the FM net (AM has never been a thing here). Now all radio on air is digital (DAB+). The sad thing is that converting your analog radio in your car cost $500 or even more. But we have very good 4G coverage so streaming radio works quite well. Thank you for your tip on WBAP. Might be a station for my taste :) |

Generally you're not going to find one that has all of those. The closest you will find will likely be either a college radio station or a community station. But those are specific FCC licenses, and they are mandated to provide alternative programming. That means classic rock and popular country music isn't allowed under the broadcast license. They might mix a few in here and there, but the vast majority will be alternative music, news, or talk shows. Unfortunately, community stations are dying out because of lack of funding -- they aren't allowed to do commercials or paid programming, only sponsorships and public service announcements. Thus surviving community stations are turning to commercial licenses to raise funding through paid programming. I think you'll probably have to settle for 3 different stations. For the record, I know some of this because I was a Radio DJ for 2 years with my own show while also doing the noon news. Ok, then I understand. It's different from Norway, then. Here almost all radio stations have at least hourly news. Many combine talk shows with some music in between, some stations plays mostly music of particular genre. Mostly financed by commercials and a few is funded by the government (but those is quite political correct and a bit too left for my taste ;) Thank you for a clarifying answer. Does your shows exists on the net today? |

You can try searching the internet for stations that broadcast in the areas you're thinking. Many stations now do simultaneous webcasts, so you can listen via internet. That would give you a better idea of which stations you like. But there are so many. Where to start? A station with some music, some talks and some news. Those stations I've found so far seem to be either one, not combined. |

^^^ THIS is one reason why I think the 'if everyone had guns' or 'if more people had guns' idea is a bad one. I posed this exact scenario on many occasions. when someone becomes aware of shooting , and then they see someone else with a gun, how do they know THAT person is the threat or the protection? its a bad idea. It's a tradegy when innocent people is killed. I've been in Israel a few times. Especially in Jerusalem you will see a lot of police and soldiers with assault weapons, not only a pistol. But I feel very secure there. And those times when terror(attempts) occures they manage to neutralize the terrorist almost imediatly. In Norway the police has until recently never been armed. They had guns locked down in the police car, though. But had to call a judge before they could unlock it. It's easy to argue that it has reduced "cop killings" by almost non existent. This YouTube clip went viral a few years ago. It's showing how Norwegian police arrest a drunk man. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1PNPcnffbk And this from the Finish Television: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esUeZOZkqrQ Does that comfirm that less guns is safer? Maybe. Maybe not. As mentioned above, just untill recently the Norwegian police was unarmed. But that changed july 22. 2011. Many argue that several kids wuld have been saved if the police was armed that day. I don't know, but I feel safer when the good guys are armed. The bad guys will always be armed anyway. |

Ideally yes, however both don't usually ask each other out for the first time at the same time. One asks first... how would you feel if it were the woman who asked you rather than waiting for you to ask? Here in Norway dating often start with flirting first. Because many dates happen between colegues and friends of friends. Not so often strangers. Online dating is of course different. Then one has to ask the other for a date. My self is hopeless when it comes to flirting. You have to have a big sign around your neck before I understand what you're after. Sometimes I ask my self how I ever could become a father Unfortunately I have several storys of flirting that went the wrong way.. I work at an office where about 55 out of 70 employees are women. Many unmarried and good looking. Every year, sometime before christmas we use to have a christmas party. Lots of food and beverages. A good circumstance to flirt. This story happened two years ago. As the evening went by, the beer and wines got to our heads. Some of the women went on the dancefloor. As Norwegians can appear shy and inwards, that tends to disappear as dew in the sun when we're drinking. Among the women dancing there was a beautiful woman which would have no problems getting any man. She danced by her self. No other men on the floor. She and I had worked toghether a few years and worked in the same team. So we knew eachother quite well professionally. We also had several common interests and I always enjoyed chatting with her. I think she enjoyed the same. The tables around the dancefloor was arranged in a horse shoe formation. I sat at the end with my back to the dancefloor and I had to twist around to watch them dancing. I was sipping to a drink when someone tapped on my shoulder. There she was. Tall, blond and beautiful and asking _me_ for a dance. Every other man would accepted that in a heartbeat, even those with only one leg and one arm. But me? Noo, I answered "Uh.. I'm sorry, I don't dance." I regret that to this day. Not that I think or hoped that would led to more than a dance anyway. But I regret that I put her in a state of embarassement being rejected like that. No wonder why I'm single... |

I like to turn the question around a little bit: Would you as a woman want to be with a man you had to chase? My answer: Nope. Won't work for me. It feels unnatural, goes against every instinct. I couldn't feel respect for the man, and I need to be able to respect my man. I think it ties in directly with primal instincts. How can you as a woman feel protected, safe, provided for, if a man didn't even have the baws and masculinity to chase you? Is masculinity only measured by who chasing whom? I guess it's not. I see my self as masculine man, but I'm hopeless when it comes to women... :) |

I dont understand the connection between murder and rape, at least as it pertains to USA where we havent seen a connection with asylum seekers. That murder and rape thing is exclusive to muslim immigrants. You'll know when you let more of them in. (of course not all muslims, but we don't have similar problems with immigrants from other parts of the world. I don't think it's a religious thing, even though I call it a Muslim thing. It's in their culture. Where gay men are thrown from tall buildings, where rape victims get stoned and thieves get their hands cut off.) The other problem of males coming is a matter of economics. In the USA, at least there is a priority to keep families together, so no one else has to 'pay for their kids'. Thats the sad reality of our priorities. and so with that monetary bottom line it makes little sense for women to come with children by themselves, and then have to figure out financial survival as a single parent once they arrive. I guess there is some differences how you do it and how us Europeans do it. In Europe they get paid as long as they stay here and wait for their asylum. If and when the asylum is granted then the rest of the family comes over. I think its best to have that balance of helping people how and when we can, which is sometimes permitting them safe haven in a different location and sometimes engaging in policies and action that can make their location a safer haven. I prefer that my country help them where they are rather than supporting human trafficking. It's much cheaper too. So, for the same money we can help many more. Just think about it, there are about 60 million refugees in the world. Is it justified to help only a million and let the rest just starve and die? To me the asylum system has so many drawbacks that we have to look for other solutions. You know, the asylum idea was created in another time when trafficking across the world was not possible or extremely difficult. It might be a good idea then, but not anymore. |

Here in texas it all depends on the area if you don't have XM. Over the air stations will fade out or change thd farther you drive. For rock i like 106.7 the eagle i think. And 102.5 the bear. I had to google XM, so no I don't have it. I have listened some to 106.9, but it's all christmas these days. I listen to the station mainly for local news, and they play music all night so it keeps me company. Listening all night? Working night shift at a hospital? Did that my self some years ago, but that wasn't for me. Well, if you ever find you way up to the NYC area flip on 104.3 ( Q104.3) for the best classic rock... sorry not rally any country music up here.. there should be some, but there isn't Not been in New York yet. Maybe NYC some day, but i'm NOT driving there :D |

I often listen to Cat Country 98.1, but it's they just have like two CDs playing on repeat all the time.
For classic rock it's 106.9 Eagle And Fox for "news", but that channel is very narrow and aimed at conservative hard core Trump supporters ;) What about a channel with some news, some country/rock and a talk show now and then? |

So yes, we do need to guard borders, but we also need to be aware of things happening globally and help WHERE and when we can, which includes the option for others to seek asylum or for others to be able to immigrate. We do need a balance of liberal progress and conservative tradition. Both sides have extremists who refuse to even consider any idea or concept. without their 'label' on it. It is not an easy task for humans to decide where the line is that one persons beliefs and 'rights' end and the next begins, because our lives are so interconnected and intertwined. Yet, it is worth continuing to at least TRY to figure out and work toward that type of balance, instead of what is becoming an insurgence of all or nothing philosophies and policies. just my two cents. One BIG problem with the asylum system is that it creates a enormous trafficking business with murder and rape and whatever monstrosities you can imagine. One more BIG problem is that 80% of the asylum seekers are young men. Why don't they stay put and fight for their family and country? Yet another BIG problem is that only people with money and (illegal) connections have any chance to take advance of the asylum system. Wouldn't it be better to HELP people where they live? My two cents ;) |

Europe is overflowing with illegal immigrants and the Country cannot keep up with the expenses. But you rarely see that on US media news. Socialism has taken over. Libral logic will destroy a Country. Fortunately right now we have a POTUS that is trying to prevent that in the US. The sad part is that every illegal immigrant has the right to apply for asylum. A right most (muslim) UN members hold on tight. Muslim states that has no interest in keeping criminals, extremists and terrorists for them selves. |

Know what? That's Europe. This is here. I don't give a flying fig what Europe does. They wanna be stupid? Let'em. We got dragged into two world wars because of them. Our ancestors LEFT Europe because they wanted to run their show, their way. Don't like it? Leave. I don't know if it was me your reply was intended for? My intention was merely to point out that other countries has similar situations. And that every nation has the right to protect their borders with every means they choose. You're totally free to give a sh..t about Europe. But doing so can risk doing the same mistakes as us. In some parts of Europe it looks more like Eurostan. |

Trump sending troops to the border is going to help with the red wave. The majority of the American people don't want an invasion of illegals. We don't want to support them, educate them, house them in prisons, etc. I'm on topic. Stop drinking the liberal coolaid Protecting the borders is the right of every nation. We do the same her in Norway too. You risk being shot by soldiers if you try to cross illegally at our border to Russia. Our other borders are inside EU/Schengen and have no real border control. |

The KKK is nearly dead, Democrats don’t like the KKK, Republicans don’t like the KKK, only the KKK like the KKK! The terrorist group ANTIFA however is supported by Democrats, they try to justify their violence! Extremists and idiots (often the same people) are everywhere, not only on the left or right side. |

southern democrats southern democrats southern democrats Why southern? Because there was only in southern states tobacco, rice and cotton grew. These agriculture crops was very labor intensive to harvest, hence the main reason for using slaves. Not that there wasn't racism in south. Using black people as slaves was racism no matter how you see it. |

Interesting side note... I went to college with his nephew, Billy Bush. Remember him? The guy who lost his job on Access Hollywood over that interview with Donald Trump from back in 2006? Billy was a year behind me in college. We had some of the same friends, which means we probably met, but we didn't really know each other. But he's still linked on Facebook to a couple of my friends. So there's a chance he might actually read the eulogy I wrote for his Uncle George. If you ask me? No, I can't say I remember him. But I remember the case, though. Very interesting that you know this guy. Do you think the interview was some sort of set up, or do you think it just went that way? Without re-watching the interview to see if there is something I've forgotten or missed... I would say that the interview simply went that way. Billy is no saint either, but he's also not what others may judge him to be. He's not really a conservative. In fact, he was what we used to call "granola" - fairly liberal, long hair, a bit of a health nut, outdoorsy, and liked to experiment with certain drugs. He may have been familiar with what we call "locker room talk", but he didn't seem like the type to engage in such publicly or around women unless he knew them really really well. The people I know would not have associated with him if he wasn't a good person. They simply wouldn't have tolerated bad or consistently lewd behavior in a friend. And, they would have told him so to his face. To me it's an interesting story either way. It gave an angle to the story I didn't know of. Always fun to know a little personal behind a story that you only know through media. So thanks for sharing. Really appreciate it :) |

But for me his greatest gift was his ability to be a leader within his family and a role model to his kids and grand children. And a role model for people in general. And when you role all that together you have a very special person. That's a significant difference between us Europeans and Americans, I think. You tend to favor family values high. It's not a bad thing, not at all. Actually, I share that same view. But my impression is that family values comes second in most European countries. A great political career is to many the most important. In many way it is, but a lot of politicians lack the ability to connect with everyone. They can still do a great job, and many does. But that last bit, many European politicians just doesn't have it. |
