The Lamb Who Saw The Star

A little Christmas tale I wrote for you to share. Feel free to copy and share for Christmas. It is of my own words and told in the way I was told to write it. Hope you enjoy.
(Yes, I know it's early for Christmas, but before you know it, it is already here.) The Lamb Who Saw The Star As the shepherd watched his small little flock, grazing in the grass below, a whisper touched those that can hear, like the words on a breeze. It was the voice of an angel, "Come, for unto us, a Savior is born." With that, the little lamb shook her head, as if she couldn't believe what she just heard. The she looked up and with a sparkle in her eye, she asked, "Mama, what is that?" The big fluffy ewe looked to the sky and saw the most amazing thing. It was a bright star, looking like a cross with outstretched arms and a tail so long, glowing through the night sky. "Why I don't know dear, but our master seems to know." As the two look at the shepherd stand, staring into the sky. He grabbed his few belongings he owned, strapped them to his shoulder and started walking towards the distance of the star. The sheep knew to follow the good shepherd. As the small flock follow the shepherd, still looking into the sky, they silently bay in the night. "Mama, what is a Savior?" Asked the little lamb with curiosity. "Well dear, from what I have heard, it is supposed to be the One who comes to make things right." As mama ewe was watching which way the good shepherd was going. "Is there something wrong then?" Still confused asked the little lamb. "Well dear, from the great spirit in the sky, He wants to make sure things stay right with His world as it is. If something goes wrong, the One will make things right." As best as mama could explain. They trudged on for a distance before the little lamb noticed a group of people, heading in the same direction. "Who are those people, mama?" "They look like people of importance my little precocious one. They wear gold on their heads, so they must be of some importance." As mama kept up with the rest of the flock. Those people were of importance. They were the three wise men. They were carrying gifts, in which to give to the New Born King. "How much further, mama? My legs are getting tired." As the little lamb was trotting at a fast pace, keeping up with her mama and the rest of the flock. "It doesn't look like it's too much further dear. We're almost directly under the star." As mama looks up, with the glow getting brighter. As they looked ahead, they saw a manger outside of a barn, next to an inn. With a little excitedness, the little lamb ran up to the manger, curious as to what all the fuss was about. When she got to the manger, she looked in and saw a little hay bed, with a baby inside. She peered in and was amazed at the little cherub laying there so quiet. Just then, the little child saw the little lamb and layed his hand on the lambs soft little head. The little lamb felt like everything was going to be all right. A calmness came over the crowd, as they laid their gifts out for the little child, who became, Christ our Lord. As everybody knelt, with the receiving of that touch on the little lambs head, angels in the heavens above, sang praises to the New Born King. |

The Withering Of A Flutter

The Withering Of A Flutter When you have a broken heart And it no longer pitter pats, Where are the butterflies That used to feel like bats? The love I used to feel You took away from me, Now we'll never know my dear If we were meant to be. My heart feels so alone It longs for no other, There is no longer pitter pats Just a withering flutter. Time stood still that day When reality had to set in, Now I just sit back and wonder Where do I begin? I long for a flock of butterflies To take over my heart, So I can feel that fluttering again When love does take part. The withering of a flutter Is a heart, no longer beating, But the joy of a new love Is the best kind of greeting. |

Broken Distance, Broken Heart So many miles away from you It just doesn't seem fair, A long distance love in time I am here, you are there. If love tugs at the heart The way it has done mine, The shortest distance between two hearts Is a straight line. Broken distance, broken heart Does destiny have a plan? To bring our two hearts together So I can be your man? Is this true love I feel Or is it that beautiful smile, That captured my heart Way across the miles? As I sit back and ponder If this was meant to be, One day, our paths will cross We'll just have to see. But keep me in your thoughts Our journey will never part, With love, comes patience With this broken distance, and broken heart. |

You Are A Hero
You Are A Hero You are a mother, with children Supporting their every need, They may never say thank you When it's time to feed. But in their eyes, they see To them, you are a hero, In their hearts, with a hug Is how you will know. You are a father, with family Giving of your all, Working hard, to meet their needs Taking time, to play ball. You are their strength, superman To them, you are a hero, You don't have to have super powers For them to know. You are a soldier fighting Battling a senseless war, Fighting for our freedom Trying to settle the score. We give our respect and support To us, you are a hero, Come home, might soldier Our appreciation we'll show. You are a friend, always giving Of your precious time, A shoulder to lean on Borrower for a dime. You're there, in time of need To me, you are a hero, Through the thick and thin You're willing to go. No matter who you are In someone's eyes they see, The abilities you possess No super hero can be. No thanks should be given To them, you are a hero, No one judges your mistakes With a heart you show. |

Would You Shun Me?
Would You Shun Me? I come to you, in tattered clothes Unkempt hair, begging for a dime, Would you be so nice, to lend some change Make it worth my time? I might smell of booze, smoking a cig Acting like I need a fix, But just a small handful of change Keeps me from being sick. Would you shun me, walking away Just someone you can ignore? You would be surprised, who I am When I settle the score. I remember those, who denied me An offering to see me through, So when I present myself, once again Wonder what you will do? I duck into an alley, change I did No longer in disguise, I find you, who denied me And got a big surprise. When I asked to borrow a dime No problem when you pulled it out, If you knew who I was previously You'd think twice, no doubt. I am but a messenger of God An angel sent from above, Though I may have been a bum God tests your love. So if you shunned me as a bum You shunned God as well, For He comes to us in many ways Can you really tell? Would you bow your head in shame And feel you did deny? Because you passed God up Then ask yourself why? Why did you deny Gods love As a beggar when He came, Did you fail the test He gave Can you take the blame? |

I See The Romance In You
I See The Romance In You When the sun sets, out on the oceans horizon, I see a reflection of a heart, Like the outline in sand I've drawn Where our evening will start. The candles I have laid out, in heart shape, And in the middle, a table for two, When I look into your eyes tonight, my love I see the romance in you. I play our song, the one you love to hear As I pour us a glass of wine, I reach out across the table, to hold your hand Loving the moment, that you're mine. The sound of the waves, softly splashing the shore The stars dance in the midnight blue, This night of all nights, I'll cherish As I see the romance in you. It's easy to surprise you, with these things I give You make love come so easy, my dear, The softness of your skin, as we embrace our love Dancing in the moonlight clear. This night, I give my all to thee Letting my love shine through, For you are all I want in life I see the romance in you. |

A Fallen Soldiers Tale
I was challenged by someone to write a poem about a fallen soldier and about the flag. Well this was my best shot. Hope you like it.
A Fallen Soldiers Tale There have been many battles fought That I have seen to this day, I have been wounded and/or killed Too many for me to say. I have seen the war of Troy Where Achilles and Hector fought, The bloodshed that was laiden And the victories that were sought. Mine eyes have seen brother against brother In a bloody Civil War, I was struck by bayonet or schrapnel Was it worth fighting for? Was I fighting for my country Or someone who wanted it all, When my body laid upon the field Was I honored for my fall? So many lives were lost The day we hit the beach, Feeling the searing bullets For something hard to reach. Lying face down in the sand Body parts, no longer attached, When they came for my body There was no face to match. We were known as the Sleeping Giant The day Pearl Harbor was attacked, The ships that were destroyed And the men fought with knack. When I was gunned down And sunk to my watery grave, We fought till the smoke cleared Of the lives that we gave. Vietnam was an unknown land The VC caught you by surprise, If you were caught prisoner You were tortured and despised. You would be truly thankful You met a bullet or bayonet, For this was one war I will never forget. Now I am battling a war All because of one man, He took it upon himself To invade our homeland. Many people, none were soldiers Died that fateful September morn, All because of one mans greed We'll fight and not be scorned. Through all my many battles That I have fought and died, I carried in my heart A flag I waved up high. My flag of red, white and blue In which my life I gave, Let her fly in our honor Long may she wave. |
