You are a mother, with children
Supporting their every need,
They may never say thank you
When it's time to feed.
But in their eyes, they see
To them, you are a hero,
In their hearts, with a hug
Is how you will know.

You are a father, with family
Giving of your all,
Working hard, to meet their needs
Taking time, to play ball.
You are their strength, superman
To them, you are a hero,
You don't have to have super powers
For them to know.

You are a soldier fighting
Battling a senseless war,
Fighting for our freedom
Trying to settle the score.
We give our respect and support
To us, you are a hero,
Come home, might soldier
Our appreciation we'll show.

You are a friend, always giving
Of your precious time,
A shoulder to lean on
Borrower for a dime.
You're there, in time of need
To me, you are a hero,
Through the thick and thin
You're willing to go.

No matter who you are
In someone's eyes they see,
The abilities you possess
No super hero can be.
No thanks should be given
To them, you are a hero,
No one judges your mistakes
With a heart you show.
