I agree about not just cutting off contact with the kid, but yeah, I'd avoid talking to her. I'm not going to say time heals all wounds, because I have several wounds that are still unhealed. But it gets better. Continue trying to keep busy and all that and one day it won't hurt nearly as bad. Good luck. :)

If it feels weird, don't do it, and if you decide not to do it, please be considerate enough to call her and tell her you've changed your mind in plenty of time for her to make other arrangements. Don't do it by email, it's tacky- I had this done to me and it's rude.
Have you told your friends and family about her? If their opinion matters to you, have you thought about what they're going to say? I'm with everyone else who says you should just try to be friends with her, that's too much of an age gap. I've tried dating guys younger than me, and it wasn't nearly that much of a gap and it didn't work. There were other circumstances too, but the age was right up there with everything else and it was a big deal. No offense, but at 34 years old, I find the idea of dating a guy with a 1 in the front of his age pretty gross. Good luck to you anyway.... |

I don't know, it's up to you. It would suck to go that far and it not work out, but if you think it's worth it, go for it. However, it could not work out if it was local, too. So...good luck!!!

lol@gypsy hey sorry its just some girls/women are all talk if i could so go to America id be hapilly taken by now Sorry, but I find it doubtful that every woman in Canada is fake. Maybe it's the women you are talking to you? Or how they are responding to you? I don't know. But that's like for me to say every man in America is ______. Not true. I think I just have "loser magnet" written on me and I attract them and then I actually engage them. But it's not the entire country. Keep looking, you might find a nice one there- in Canada. Oh yeah, about the age thing, I have a friend who won't date a guy even if he's just one year younger than her, which I think is kind of silly, but some people are that way. So age can be a big problem for women- and men, too, before anyone corrects me, LOL. :) |

I agree with Moondark. I wouldn't start dating until I was completely over him- it's not fair to the guy you're trying to date. I've been on both sides of this, and it's a really bad position to put someone in- and it's really awful if you're in the position yourself, it hurts. But yeah, just try to hang out with your friends and have fun. It's okay to cry about it, too crying can help. Hopefully one day, you won't want to cry over him anymore. Good luck to you.

Personally I don't trust online romantic relationships, I've been lied to and led on too much- but I'm sure you can become very friendly with some people online.

He wasn't worth it. Focus on raising your daughter. Hopefully a guy worth your time will come along.
Also, if you're looking for a guy on here, you should change your profile, so it doesn't say you already have a bf. Good luck. :) |

Right now I'm looking for a job. If you're hiring, I'm your girl. As far as the guy thing, right now all I want is someone to email, the rest is a waste of time.

OK I'm over the hill. So it seems that while the world changed around me I was trying to make a relationship not meant to be work. I'm now at a point that I don't know what to do in a relationship. The ladies my own age seem to think the way to keep a man is keep him in bed and give him what he wants there. The younger ladies seem to be looking for fun times and frienship nothing more. So what is a guy in his late 40's to do? Maybe I should just follow in my father's foot steps and marry a 25 year old(adjusted fo age differance) . I love your posts gypsy. :) And yeah, about the 16 year old, that's just nasty. No one is worth going to jail over. |

How uncanny is that? Almost the same thing happened to me while browsing the magazine rack at a local bookstore! Only it was a rabbit wearing a bow tie. Actually not a rabbit, a bunny actually.. Now normally over-sized rabbits in bow ties have me thinkin I might be in an acid flashback from my youth... This one seemed so real as she slipped from the page of the magazine I was unfolding..... You never told us what the bunny offered you? |

I don't really get where you're at with the Hamburger helper but, back to the original post... I think guys want sex without Soap operas. They, or should I say we, think maybe this is the one that won't drive us crazy, we feel like we are in Love, and maybe we say it. Then the typical strong emotional energy of a woman comes into the picture and it freaks us out. Then we chicken out. We weigh and balance the sex, companionship and Love, against the drama, crying, emotional outbursts, expectations, all the compromises that we have to make in our personal lifestyles, and after thinking about the positives and negatives, we decide being alone really isn't that bad, especially if we just jerked off. Sometimes I can be blunt, but that is the truth of the matter. I'd like to hope it's not just females who have strong emotional energy, especially when someone says I love you. That's just an excuse, if you don't mean it, you shouldn't say it. Your mouth is one of the easiest things on your body to control. You shouldn't have to express every thought you have simply because you had it. |
