oh yeah.. I guess a phone and charger would help huh.. thanks for the reminder Gal.. and maybe a battery with a solar panel??  it IS an emergency after all huh 
Ohh they have the phone chargers that are solar powered..that comes with solar panels.. I have not bought one yet just seen them not a bad idea.. The extra charger I have for my phone I keep it fully charged just in case I loose power. |

This one you mentioned "Hell on Wheels" being A-1+ fare, particularly in the Westerns/Civil War era genre. I watched this series and enjoyed it... But then I do like some westerns if they are action packed.. To me the more Action in a movie, the more likely I will watch it..

Myself several pairs of jeans, t-shirts, sweatshirts,jogging pants, coat, sweater, over counter meds, sleeping bag, small tent, and any protection means I have..and of course those few things mentioned in the first post..
Ohh Phone and side charger...Plus protein bars and any food that is none perishable & bottles of water. Maybe strange but I would grab a few small items that belonged to my parents and granny.. Humm yea I have a big suitcase on rollers.. 
But I would load it all in my trailer that hooks up to my Trike get all the gas I could, and go as far out of any town as I could.. Ohh Trike is always full..

Humm if it was under 3" my happy azz would leave it hahahah..
But I live in Texas when we get that much snow it is all gone within 3 days and you would never know it had snowed.. Well except for all those Texans who think they can drive on Ice.. Normally we get sleet first then some snow.. This is our Winter ~~~ |

Texas is finally, about thawed out... Came to work today side roads still nasty this morning and some main roads.. Our parking lot was all iced over but temps came up and it is all melted now..

I know your tough and all but have ya thought of getting a snow blower..
All that shoveling is tough on the body... 
Here we get mainly ice then some snow on top.. roads stay icy for a few days then they are good to go.. 
I plan on going to work tomorrow its like 20 with wind chill outside now, suppose to get up to 40 today so it will melt some more off the roads..

Morning....It actually is a bit warmer this morning it's 16 outside... Called my brother last night to let him know I would not be at work today either...
Roads are still covered in my neighborhood from all the sleet/snow.. and ya go slippy slide if you get out.. Not chancing it at all..

"Just have to find that one you enjoy spending time with and traveling..." That is almost the impossible task!!! Not always.... Myself my last three cruises were with my step sister as well as some family & friends.. We get along great and my sister gets awesome deals on Cruises....

For those that like to travel Solo more power to you...
Myself I prefer with another either friend/partner. At least then you have someone to share the experience with.. Just have to find that one you enjoy spending time with and traveling... |

doesn't quite work that way up here in Quebec.. we call the insurance co.. they send an investigator.. once approved we get an allowed amount for the repair then we gotta do all the work in finding contractors.. they simply have to be reputable and registered 
although I truly believe any insurance is a scam (money grab) with my luck, once I'd let my lapse, the house would probably crumble to the ground
if memory serves.. you work with your brother.. no?? I'd love to do more cruising.. just way too expensive solo and most ports are in the USA.. which for me traveling there is kind of no freakin way at the moment.. the ICE (frozen snow) I have here is enough of a headache..  which reminds me.. had more come down last night so.. best get shoveling.. yet again.. 
Here when we call Insurance they have Adjusters come out and at times will suggest Contractors...When we call the contractors they then deal direct with the Insurance company on repairs ect.. But in all it is still a hassle at times.. I have went several years with no Insurance on my house... So all out of pocket but still not costing me what I would have put out for insurance.. Yes I still work for my brother been there 15 years come May... Cruises are fun, I'm a bit lucky on that my sister cruises a lot so the price she gets for a 7 day cruise on a Baloney room is $500 and under a person and she gets the drink package free... When I do go I share a room with her now.. Went on 3 cruises between Nov 2024 -March 2025.

Actually the only thing that one was able to do was Edit their post within a thread only Mods or Admin were every able to totally delete a thread that needed it..
In order to get that done you will need to report it. It may take a few days before they take it down.. Due to no more full time Mods it takes longer for threads/post to be deleted.. And well good luck trying to get Admin.. It took me over a month to be able to get back into my account when I got locked out last year.. They let all their Admin go last year... and only way you can contact them is through the site .. They do not ever look at the Help forums anymore.. |

Ohh the house repairs never seem to stop for sure... I'm in the process now getting bids for a full roof replacement.. I have not retired yet.. I'm already drawing full SS but still need to work for a bit.. Due to repairs and paying things off..
I think my roof is covered under my insurance.. I have to start looking for quotes too as mine has started leaking.. not heavily.. but enough to notice.. all round the chimney.. *sighs*.. I did that too.. worked for 3 mths in 2024 and got all the $$ I needed to replace my cooktop, built-in oven, TV and all my deck supplies.. my project is putting the roof on the deck this summer.. this shud be interesting if I don't kill myself in the process
but you're right.. never ending list of 'things to do'.. mind you.. been thinking of selling and moving to a cruise ship.. no more shoveling, reno's, repairs, cooking or bills!
Just call your Insurance they will send roofers out they work with.. And you will not have to mess with them much. Humm well I don't have insurance on my house.. So all out of pocket.. Just had my AC Unit inside and outside replaced about 6 months due to it died but then the outside unit was 32 years old inside was over 15 Ohh and I splurged and bought me a new car last Jan...
So I will be working a while longer... But I have a super easy job and only work 4 days a week.. So can't complain about that..
Ohh now ya got my attention cruises are fun... ya don't have to cook/clean

Glad to hear things are good for ya.. I'm still doing the same with my house.. it's like it NEVER ends lol.. specially when you're doing everything yourself on your own.. phew! but now that I'm retired.. you'd think I'd have more time.. nope.. seems I have LESS..
oh well.. keeping busy is a good thing.. and even tho life's treating me like a beach.. I'm content which is the most one can be these days huh

Many thanks (((TxsGal))).. yup, been a long minute huh.. life got really busy
I've noticed a few of the ol'timers hanging round.. *sighs* feels kinda good, like putting on an old pair of comfy, warm slippers! How's life treating you my dear? 
All is well just plugging along in life... Just working and working on getting repairs done to my house... I still have a few that was here prior on my FB and we keep in contact that way... I don't post much anymore just lurk in the background chatting in email.. Hope life is treating you good..
