Dear Misswright,

I cannot believe you have sat in front of youre computer and typed into the mingle2 poetry web form, this huge amount of text, with the risk of it dissapering into hyperspace, as soon as you click on 'post reply'. I have often sat in front of my computer, and typed in some brilliant stufff over the course of a couple of hours, only to find that it dissapeared as soon as i clicked on 'post reply'. I reckon you must of created some office document and then copied and pasted into the web form. Either way, i take my hat off to you. Are you OK? laugh

yours Sincerely,

D. P. Jones.

(An aftethought):

On reflection, i suddenly feel as though i have been a bit unfair towards Christianity, and would like to point out, that my negative view of christianity should also be extended towards Islam and Judaism.

(A comment for bastet126):

There is probably a lot of wisdom in not talking about politics and religion. So many times have i heard (in a pub) people say "whatever you do, dont talk about politics or religion".

On the other hand, this seems to me, to be a bit of a cop out. If we cant debate about politics or religion, then humanity wil never be able to resolve problems in society, and there will always be lies, war, and hatred in the world. It is my opinion that the two things which bring so much misery into the world are politics and religion.

We would all be better of without them, but unfortunatly, they are part of life.

Thankyou both for youre comments. Obviously this is a very emotive subject. I wasnt sure whether i was doing the right thing or not in posting this poem, and i did not want to cause any unneccessary deliberate offence to anyone of a christian disposition, but it is a subject which keeps croping up and really fills me with a lot of anger. I do not want to get into a heated debate about Christianity though, because i reckon it would be innapropriate on a poetry forum. However my view of christianity will always be negative for lots of different reasons.

Once again though, thankyou both for youre comments.

Christ.
Now is the day of youre reckoning.
You have brought so much hate into the world,
All in the name of love.

Such an evil cannot go unpunished,
Such lies cannot withstand the flames of reason.

In the Vatican,
Such sweet hymns await,
And stories of harmless innocent lambs.

In the vatican,
Are our children f**ked.

IHVH repulses me.

I vomit on the floor.

Such blind acceptance of evil there is in this world,
I feel as if i must take my own life.

Such f**ked up thinking there is,
I cannot exist and feel at ease.

Christ.
Now is the day of youre reckoning,
I'm so pleased you will be crucified again.

Gone are the happy days,
Long gone,
Like the bones of men,
Forgotten and distraught in their graves.

Gone,
What little joys,
Through struggle and strife acquired,
And treasured like a kiss in passionate embrace.

Such a passion have i,
That rises up through the chest,
A fine horse,
That rears up with pride,
In rampant martial display.

Such a passion there is,
Here,
In the cage of my being,
Yet rivers of time,
Do quench the flames,
And all seems lost and forlorn,
Amongst the smouldering steam.

Gone,
Gone!,
Such moments of cheer,
Once enjoyed by this ravaged heart,
Amidst billowing fields of wheat,
All splashed with golden sun.

Oh friendly ghosts,
Oh spirits of suffering,
Fetch me Hemlock from the field,
And a dagger,
To twist deep down,
In the sockets of my eyes.

Fetch me the hangmans noose,
And so to swing,
From the bridge of the lost,
To join the distraught bones,
In the airless material,
Of the womb of the earth.

Even foul winds cannot carry my sorrow.

It is a weight that sinks to the bottom of the sea,
It is tears of salt and tears of blood,
Entwined like a serpent,
With a sanguine heart.

Often my heart beats,
Like the thunderous footsteps of an army,
All grimace and beared teeth,
Yet my fears deceive,
Even myself to the end,
As a sword plunged into my chest,
So must it be,
For i have no freind.

Let the darkness consume me,
For in that digestion,
I will find the freedom that eagles serve,
And that many men,
Without rhyme or reason,
Have invested thus,
In oblivion.

Oh let the tears come,
And the heart undone,
This noble suffering,
This harmony of grief,
That fetches forth the dawn.

The crescent hangs in the warm evening sky,
Low and noble to the dark horizon,
All coloured with blood.

The hairs on the back of my neck stand,
And the air seems thick and heavy,
With the slow ejaculaton of the first buds of spring.

The wolf brothers assemble in the forest glade.
They come in procession,
Burnng dark herbs,
And calling ancient names.

For a while they murmur,
Then they are gone,
Like the blood moon falling below the earth.

The forest sinks back into silence.
In the dark.

Its just a made up language. It doesnt mean anything, but i think there are traces of emotion in it. I'm just sitting in front of my computer on a sunday evenng/monday morning, had quite a few drinks and a couple of bongs and got thinkng about how beautifull language is. I guess i was trying to make something beautifull out of absolute nonsense, just the sound of something, rather than any meaning. It was meant to be humourous as well, in a nonsensical way. laugh
