Awakened gently
by the sound of birds singing;
it was as if I could feel their joy
course through my soul
dancing, like the river
entwined with the glistening sun

of thin strokes of white clouds and sunlight.
Slowly,
I ease from the bed and look out the window
There are tiny drops of dew,
settled on each blade of grass,
I close my eyes
and imagine them tickling my toes.
