Yet will to survive demands action.
Pounding against the cold.
Droplets red added to your watery tomb.
Lungs compressed, eyes bulge.
Disbelief.
Sunlight through the crystal surface.
A bird soars above, life in flight.
Death imminent in a frigid grave.

Alone. Insanity.

A crack in the solidity.
The only hope, ironically.
A battle fought just as furiously.
Knuckles rapping in agonizing despair.
Against a cold existence without love.

Beneath a perfect sheet of ice.
Desperately searching for life.
For flight, above the pain that chills.
Heart slows, breath halted in frosty silence.
The bird sings its song of beauty above.
Unheard, only the sound of rushing water.
Deafening beneath the crystal glare.
