Obviously the real issue in the US right now is the debt ceiling and the spending priorities. I just wish that our President and Congress would focus on that rather than more stupid-azz social issues like gay marriage and anti-gun legislation. The anti-gun legislation is IMO almost a complete waste of time because it cannot prevent massacres like Newtown from occurring in the future and cannot even limit the severity of such nutball suicide attacks. So why waste all this time and effort on a pointless ineffectual gesture when we have real extremely serious economic issues pressing which need to be addressed immediately. 
This kind of nonsense just really makes me angry. These idiots are completely frittering away time and money on window dressing while not dealing with problems which will really do damage to all of us on a massive scale if they are not aggressively pursued NOW. 
C'mon you ding dongs...stop wasting my time and money and get down to working on something that is actually productive!! 
uhhhh slow buddy, it's because they have no clue how to fix the debt, or a desire to try, that they want our guns.... they don't want our guns and are not trying to take our guns. they know how to reduce the spending and how to raise the debt ceiling. I think that Obama is merely tweaking Congress. He views the debt ceiling and spending issue to be their responsibility (and there is a lot of truth in that) and as long as Congress keeps wringing their hands, refusing to pay for their expenditures, and fighting with each other about spending priorities then Obama is going to dcik around with stupid social agenda legislation and his number 1 priority in that area is apparently ineffectual gun control measures which can never stop or reduce in any way nutball attacks on innocent people. What a farce!!
Now Congress and the President both look stupid!!

She lost her job and her court appeal today.
Although I understand that it was a monumental distraction. I'd have hope that the whole issue would die down and that she would be able to teach again. I don't think that her past should haunt her forever or make it impossible for her to find a job teaching kids. Hopefully she will be able to find another job professionally and move on someplace where they are not so porn obsessed. |

I've read in this forum a number of times that women decide whether or not they want to have sex with a man within only a few seconds. If this is true, why would you want to put it off? Are you afraid he'll think poorly of you if you have sex too soon? That he won't respect you? Or is it some kind of power play/head game?
OK. I'll play. I don't find in objectionable or sleazy if my "enamorata de soir" wants to get randy and wild on the first date. It can be a tremendous experience if it happens that way and the attraction is so strong. It does not often happen to me anyway. I can tell if there is enough chemistry and compatibility for sex on the first date to not be a complete mistake. On the other hand, even if there is a strong attraction, it has been my experience that getting to know each other better only enhances the sex and trying to hold off on sexual activities adds a degree of tantric anticipation and excitement which can't be achieved any other way. So the basic reason to hold off for me anyway is to deepen the relationship and make everything about the experience of the other person more meaningful, satisfying, exciting and ecstatic! That said, there are exceptions. Exceptional exceptions. And, some in my experience have launched long term relationships on the first night. That is special too.
So...it is situational - be smart and don't drink and drive.

I think you bring up a good point? Who are the bad guys? My niece married a good guy but when he started drinking and having domestic squabbles; he threatened to shoot her and the kids with his rifle. The police removed weapons immediately and he is banned from ever owning a weapon again. Actually this is a problem here in the US, both our standards of evidence are often inconsistent, we also often disregard serious threats. Sometimes here we also disregard serious threats and then someone dies. Had a house only about a block from me where the husband threatened his wife but she would not call police. Her family and friends knew but no one got involved as they are Indian and that is just not done. She was killed my him and the police were threatened with a law suit as they attended the home due to neighbors calling about the fights but the wife denied he did anything wrong. Messed up world we live in. Neighbors did the right thing to notify authorities. Dangerous situations with threats of violence must never be ignored. Such situations need to be confronted head on so that those who threaten others harm are deterred. There is never any reason to accept threats and brutality. |
