Mine, I'm sure it could use some upgrades. What really bothers me is how heavy the neck is, when I use a strap I can't let go of the neck or else it slides down. |

That's awesome searay! Great work on that, I admire your patience and handy work. Definitely gives me hope on that dulcimer. I found a luthier just 20 minutes from me, he was a woodworker/furniture maker and has restored some vintage guitars. I'll be taking it in for an estimate this week probably. Pretty excited thinking about playing it again, also about getting out of my slump and playing guitar and banjo more often.

When I was little I remember a banjo hanging on the wall, it was my grandmothers. She had quit playing by the time I was born, when I got a banjo I asked my uncle about it because I thought how cool it would be to play my grandmothers. He said he took it to a guy to get it in shape and never heard from him again, obviously not a reputable guy. I've gotten very lazy with playing anything, all this talk is stoking the flame a little.

One last pic of the original wooden tuning pegs and a label inside with the guys name, address and phone number who made it. Called the number to take a chance, out of service of course... Still I think it's got a pretty neat history |

The wood split shortly after they put these tuners on, not sure if it can be fixed, I haven't taken it in to have it checked yet |

Ok here's the dulcimer, was my mother in laws. The ex hasn't had any problems with me having it so far, she doesn't play. She has a clipping from a newspaper in 72 I think of her mother playing it by a lake, which is really cool. I'll post the unfortunate crack next
