After the recent tradgedy in Ft. Hood and the increased suicide statistics I have to wonder if we are pushing our troops too hard. With high pressure assignments, back to back deployments, extreamly tough standards to keep a career going. Opinions? They should have never gone to both Iraq and Afghanistan . Now they should be brought back . The US foreign policy is a nightmare and should be condemned by any person with an inch of reason and a pin of justice . Killing Iraqis and Afghans is not killing mosquitoes . Killing humans for a well deceived, manipulative and gross policy is WRONG , wrong and wrong. |

Good morning Betty and thank you for everything . I am okay now and I am early too . I woke up at 06:00 A.M. local time . I hope I can head for Canadian Tire and Loblaws for few things I need . Anyone wants to go with me for a walk or shopping this morning ?. I am desperate for company specially that early..... ....when everyone else is snoring. The good news is the weatherman is predicting a fantastic Indian Summer here with 14 degrees . Maybe we ought to go to the beach too.... .

A person ought to have an inner conscience to follow and not follow orders from any superior . Politicians come with absurd and unfair decisions of life and deaths . Some folks use their brains and refuse unfair orders and some just keep on following them .

The media are reporting he was from a Jordanian Palestinian origin. He was going to be deployed to Iraq and he did not want to go . Also his entourage people were teasing him constantly about being Muslim . Also the media are reporting an increase in the military suicide, family violence and abuse and post stress crap.......etc . The Military as a whole has a new policy where the are downsizing servicemembers throughout every branch. One of the quotes for a source in Washington stated "Servicemembers are and continue to be our greatest expense, every one we can downsize frees up money to be spent elsewhere" well what this is causing is them overworking Marines, Soldiers, Sailors, and Airmen. Pushing them to work 18+ hours a day and often not in a job that they are remotely qualified for. Causing accidents, and soldiers to completely burn-out. I think this is an EXTREME case of burnout, but I still blame Washington, and the money grubbing bean counters there. The way our government treats our soldier is sick, that is why i never joined. I know too many people who joined did 4-6 years and got out for that reason. I do not like the army for many reasons including : 1 : they become like robots whereas they take orders from any superior even if it is against their will and their conscience . 2 : they are there for the salary and the benefits and the politicians use them as puppets . 3 : The succesful elements of society do not join the army . The losers do . 4 : A human life should mean something and should not be put 100% in the hands of superiors and politicians . 5 : while politicians and the media live like kings, the soldiers have to live like dogs in Iraq and Afghanistan. 6 : etc.....etc....etc. |

In all honesty, I hope that the military wasn't apprehensive about performing a thorough investigation based on the sensitivity of his being a muslim. I don't know if that was a factor, but it seems they knew something wasn't exactly right and didn't follow up with even a basic investigation. 6 months after they came across these postings and not knowing if he was even the one that posted them is a bit of a shock. The guy was ordered to go to Iraq and he did not want to go according to some media reports . Forcing a psychiatrist to do the dirty job of G.W. Bush in Iraq is more than crazy . |
