I dont believe anyone in this thread has read Obamas book,,, unless you count finding snippets around the internet,,

nor has Obama tried to ban 'all guns',,, then again, neither did Hitler if thats the comparison being attempted,,,,

dont need to read his book his book carries no weight in the greater
scheme of things

i have read the constitution and its preceding document that fathered
it the declaration of independence those are the written articles that
carry weight in this country

not some book written by a fly by the seat of the pants politician
that cant obey his oath of office

someone claimed to read the book,,,,,no one stated that it was required for anyone to read it

as to the declaration of independence, no matter how often we wish to tie it to the constitution , it is still a SEPERATE document

yes it is a separate document no one said it wasn't

and the college books calculus 1 and calculus 2 are separate
books and separate courses but you can not take two till can show
you can do one

lol,and?

calculus is a topic that is all inclusive of different levels of studying

the constitution is a DOCUMENT, quite diffrent from a TOPIC for study

now, I can speak of what is true in calculus, as a subject, and point to any document about CALCULUS

but I Cant teach from a Calc II book and then score a student off for not knowing what was in that CALC II assignment from the CALC II lesson, by claiming its in the CALC II book,, if its not in the book,,,,

but if the student is not knowledgeable about what is in the 1st
they will not understand the 2nd

yes, but theylaugh wont be able to claim its in the second if its NOT IN THE SECOND,,

in the continuation of a topic, one has to progressively retain information to grasp what follows

the only thing that needs to be understood to understand the Constitution, is english

nobecaus the same people that wrote the constitution signed the
declaration of independence

thus the spirit of the declaration is the foundation of the
Constitution

not at all

I signed my insurance contract AFTER I signed my auto title

but the 'spirit' of my auto title has nothing to do with my insurance contract

seperate companies, seperate documents, seperate interests,,,lol

whats on my auto title is not therefore automatically in my insurance contract,,,

with out the original document (auto title)

you would not need the second (insurance document)

most likely your vin number will be on the insurance document

pretty simple

those are good examples of turf war

but only a few in an exhaustive list

that can include also struggles between individuals,,,not having to do with gangs,,,

once you have multiple members retaliating it becomes a gang

note the third def

--------------------------------------------------------------

gang
noun

: a group of criminals

: a group of young people who do illegal things together and who often fight against other gangs

: a group of people who are friends and who do things together

actually, I dont even think the constituiton needed to be written , if the declaration was the law of the land

because 'life, liberty, and pursuit of happinesss', pretty much covers anything someone wants it to,,,

imho,,,

however, Im glad it was, since at the time of this everyone being created equal to rights of 'life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness'

africans and women were not at all given 'equal' access to any of these things,,,,or treated 'equal' in these rights,,,,

The original constitution (to include the Declaration of Independence) was ahead of it's time (and still is).

Culture had not matured enough to appreciate the concept of being equal. Just as culture today has not yet grown to appreciate the responsibility of being independent.

bravo absolutely it is being proven that your statement is true all
the time unfortunately

where the document reads CONGRESS SHALL< it refers to CONGRESS

if its not expressly an authority of congress, or expressly forbidden to states

it is not a matter of the constitution,,,but of 'the people'(state, city, whatever,,)

tenth amendment

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people

the constitution delegates NO POWER regarding religion to the US, nor does it prohibit power to the STATES, so the powers regarding religion are reserved to the 'people'

it comes in to play in the bill of rights

the best way to deter crime is make the punishment hurt

make them earn there keep

get rid of the air conditioning and workout rooms and tv

make them work together to survive if put shock collars on them
so if they are out of line or try to be violent they hit the ground
from the shock

convicted of 3 violent crimes you are done forever

make the first sentence hard and fast

if another crime committed mark it harder and slower

and like i said another one and you are done public televised execution

punish criminals and quit showing their evil acts on tv and never
speak their name in a public forum they are city name and number

example chicago criminal 132 did such and such not the city they are
born in but city or town crime is committed

thus no fame for being evil and no discrimination to innocent family
members

exactly, another phrase that can be found NOWHERE In the US constitituion

instead , paraphrased rather safely from ,,,

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof

CONGRESS ( A very specific political designation) must not respect religion nor prohibit others from exercising theirs,,,

CONGRESS should stay out of religious matters,,,,

the latter two are more paraphrasing and INTERPRETING what is in the constitution
Edited by msharmony on Tue 07/08/14 06:35 PM

which means govt funds should not be spent to support a religion

and

govt officials have no right to stop any one from practicing their
religion no matter where they practice it

actually that phrase is taken out of context from a writing of
Jefferson

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/987191/posts

I only slightly disagree, as the government is bigger than just the congress,

but yeah, I think it means the CONGRESS (as the legislative branch of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT) cannot make LAWS regarding religion, pro or con,,,,

being a state in the union means you must support and abide by the
constitution thus the bill of rights must be observed by all govt
jurisdictions from the smallest town to the total country

many precedents enforce that go back to the civil rights movement
to see some of them

thus local police must give Miranda rights the 5th amendment being
one

police must get search warrant to search without cause

and perhaps there should be a mental check before issuing guns

as obviously, seeking medical assistance is not MANDATORY in this country

those who sought help should be in the books as potential danger
and those who may not have sought help should be checked that they arent a potential danger,,,

no because that opens the door to corruption and blocking lawful
possession

just like when they had tests in the south to see if you could vote

any on can be a potential danger but you cant show prejudice on a
maybe

but an already proven danger is different

you could say the same thing about motor vehicles after all more
die from motor vehicles than anything else in history

you do not need a law to say you can do something

you can do what eber you want until there is a law against it

the bill of rights are laws prohibiting laws that prohibit
various actions

thus you have the right to do those things and have those things
happen or other things not happen because of the bill of rights

again, the thread is not about whether I 'can do something'

the thread is about what is WRITTEN IN THE CONSITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES

I doubt shooters CARE whether others can carry guns, the majority dont plan to live through it one way or another, many kill themselves, many shoot until they are killed.

That someone might shoot them, is maybe not the deterrent gun advocates like to imagine it is.

well i dont hear about any police stations getting shot up

or any gun shops getting shot up

or any gun clubs

or target ranges

so yes it is more of a deterrent than gun controllers want to admit
