This was about an opportunity to show he cares, that he still has some passion. A shame he hasn't shown a tenth of this passion on the subject of the threat from Islam! There really hasn't been a "gun show loophole" for legal firearms sellers since 1938. This was an opportunity for him to get on stage, perform, get a standing ovation, remind all the liberals, progressives and Democrats that he is still there and on their side and is DOING SOMETHING. NOTHING in this announcement would have had ANY effect on any of the mass shootings that have occurred in the last ten years. Criminals almost never buy guns legally, which is more than 90% of the crimes involving guns. via FB And I doubt it will have any effect on the gun violence in his home town of Chicago. |

Obama's just trying to close so-called "loopholes" that never existed in the first place.

Dire Straits - Skateaway
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQBKUPwG_Gk From the "Making Movies" album, which I consider the greatest Dire Straits album. Rarely hear this song on classic rock stations, but caught it the other day on an "album side" of this album. |

Boston- More than A Feeling
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSR6ZzjDZ94 Virtually anything on Boston's first two albums is a great song, but THAT one has 'Timeless Classic' written all over it... I just heard this one today... I kinda like the rhythm it has. EDIT - stupid typo... I would argue that the first three albums are great. "Third Stage" is great all the way from start to finish. |

Also heard on the radio this morning that the injury Gronkowski had last night against Denver wasn't as bad as they first thought and the Boston Globe said that there's a possibility he may be back in action next Sunday afternoon against Philly.

Last night I happened to have the news on and saw several protestors in Chicago trashing a Christmas tree in downtown Chicago. Angered me and reconfirmed for me my disgust for groups such as BLM.

Others can explain it better. "Right to bear arms." Like a law that has been passed to have the rights to carry am armed gun? no, it's a undeniable right to own guns, to protect ourselves from the government/outside invaders, like England in the late 1700's during our revolution. actual text: A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. Wow we are not aloud to carry a knife or anything that can be used as a weapon around the streets if caught we can get a fine or jail. Guns are for hunting only but you have to have a licence and the gun has to be unarmed when walking around with it in the bush. It must be locked at all times either in a locked cupboard or a container that is securely locked and hidden. They are very tight here with them. Do many carry them around your streets? A no.2 pencil, can be a deadly weapon. True. Even your closed fist can be a deadly weapon. |

Why is it that you don't have the same law for all your country? Is it because of your size? You have one president for your country why not one law for all? Here we have one law for everyone. We have what is called "States Rights", each state has the right to enact their own laws outside of the federal (national law). Open carry and concealed carry are states rights. States rights is defined in the Tenth Amendment of the US Constitution. Not all states have open carry or conceal carry laws, most do. Two states that ban both open and conceal carry are Illinois and New York. Here in South Dakota we have both open and conceal carry permits. The cost is $10 and the permit is good for 4 years and you must get the permit from a local sheriff department. Once a resident passes a backgrund check, they are issued the permit. |
