While I realize this may not be the smartest thing... I do know that if I saw someone being mugged, I would react long before the brain could kick in! LOL Yep.. I'd rush in and physically do whatever was necessary. After all was said & done, I would start thinking of all the safer things I could have done 
Same here. I got robbed once, gun in the face, the whole 9 yards, and I bacame a smart ass with the guy (how dare he rob me). Later, I realized how close I came to getting shot. So yeah, not the smartest thing. |

Or you might have a knife in your chest. Very true  However, based on past personal performance, I know I would react before thought kicked in. Here is an example...
Where I live, bears are quite the norm. One day I saw a black bear headed up the road towards where I knew a bunch of the neighborhood kids were playing (including my daughter)... so what did I do?? I took off and tried to beat the bear to the kids to warn them! Yep.. it wasn't until I was within inches of the bear's backside, that I realized what I was doing.. OR that I had a cordless phone in my hand! Luckily at that point my brain kicked in and I stopped & called the neighbor. End result?? All was fine. But that had more to do with luck than conscious thought
