Love your spirit, but some of your arguments leave me perplexed.

... are you suggesting that a LARGE minority of US CITIZENS, whom have
been buying Japanese cars in increasing numbers over the past 30+ years
(among numerous other foreign products), are victims of ... a US MADE
conspiracy, building an US MADE Myth that Japanese Made cars are better
built?!?!?

C'mon Fanta, there is no myth or inside conspiracy here! It's the
'greed' thing from the big three making lots of money on WAR era V-8's,
whom didn't want to believe that the love strory with big PROFITABLE gas
guzzling V-8's and their American owners was over!
They refused to adjust to conditions that were not their own!!! It
didn't matter how many told them about the writing on the wall, they
chose to keep milking the American Consumer Cow for all it was worth,
without noticing what was happening in the rest of the world, NOR
PLANNING ANY CHANGES IN THEIR WAYS.

The very sad part, is that it might be way too late to wake-up now. And
that is SAD! Right along Coke, GE, and Kodak, the big three WERE THE
UNITED STATES!!!

I don't doubt one moment that the US Phoenix will rise from these
'greedy' Corp. captains, and shareholders ASHES, but as you would agree
I'm sure, the current greedy gluttons whom have run these legendary
successes into the ground, don't deserve another day of the good
people's trust!!!

Re-inventing the industry on totally recyclable transportation products,
running on renewable energies, would be the biggest coup the US could
make since the Model 'T'!!!

... you've been bringing-up the 'tariff' angle in the past couple of
messages, making it sound like the US is some kind of generous open
trade market (quite rightly the largest) for the rest of the world!!!
and doesn't get reciprocal treatment from other countries.

This is a complex and defining subject of a world integrated trading
market, and worth special attention. Topic of a whole other debate, or
plain informatin exchange.

The 'Doha' Development Agenda, would be a good starting point. The
poorest Nations are basically waiting for the big players to sort their
relative petty considerations, before they can start trading and getting
to the first box of surviving on this planet. Interesting exchange for
sure!!!

In conclusion, I wholeheartedly support you in your enthusiastic drive
to buy US first (and I don't mean Wal-Mart)!!! That alone, could stop
the hemmoraging, and get US people to start acting as a team and family
again.
Easier said than done, but then, there ain't gone be an easy trick
commin' to settle this one!!!

to feed the starving, housing programs to help those impoverished in sub
standard living conditions, and other programs to make the world a
better place. is that to far out to ask?

also, I know I rantred and rambled a bit, so let me make a clarification
real fast please. It is not "mexicans" or any other nationality I am
against. I have nothing agaisnt our brothers, ad feel for any problems
they have. It is the ones that want to come over our borders and work
without paying taxes, and receive welfare and grants that I myself can
not receive because I AM an American that pisses me off this badly.

and yes it will be a hard road, and duffy I believe you are out numbered
on the illegal issue. They are already sending them home, just not fast
enough. It is picking up momentum though despite the bleeding hearts of
the minority. Right here where I live, they have sent sherriff deputy's
for training on recognizing and processing the removal of illegals.
Since the Feds wont do it the States who are paying the cost are taking
matters into their own hands. There is a town in GA that sent back
something like 2500 a couple months ago. That was more than 50% of the
entire town. Our elections here swinging away from incumbants was not
based solely on the war, but more on the illegal immigrant problem
suffered by the Southern States.
Your right if people shut up and give in to the bleeding hearts they
wont go back. But then we arent shutting up and the bleeding hearts are
a minority<<

bear. i do not have the WA stats, but what i can do, is research, and
get back to you. I lived on the Mexicalli/Calexico border in CA for 5
years. I saw the miserable plight of those living on the other side. I
saw what happened to people crossing the river who drowned. I took a
trip to Baja, and saw the miserable living conditions of the people down
there. Trust me, there is no answer to this problem right now. But you
believe what you want. This is a free country, free site to post
opinions, and discuss the issue.
I have no experience with other nationalities from other countries. I am
only reporting what I saw, lived and breathed for 5 years.

I too graduated hs on the Mex border in NM 1978, back then they would
catch them quick, without a fence and put their asses back on a bus take
them to the border and shew them home. California, what can you say
about a State that will elect a foreign born man for Governor? If you
let them they would elect Arnold as President. Ive already seen where
ppl are trying to change the Constitution to allow it.. I dont live
there, dont care what they do, but they cant change the constitution of
the US. Or can they??? God I hope not..Do you think our way of life here
in the US is happenchance? Let the Mexicans, ( again a nationality not a
racial slur) improve their own lifes, in their own country.. Thats what

OKAY my apologies.....i was focusing on illegal people.....not all
hispanic people. do not get your panties in an uproar. i meant to zero
in on my border experience in defense of the people crossing over, the
miserable living conditions on the border, the travesties by swimming
the river, the things i saw while i lived down near Mexicali/Calexico
for a 5 year period during the years between 1972 and 1977. so there. my
job was that of 4-H Youth Advisor trying to integrate children of
different ethnic backgrounds into an all white wasp 4-H program. Fun?
No. It just about killed me, but I learned a whole lot.
