Personally, if I want to have sex without a condom, we make a date to go to the clinic together and as a couple they will let you know if there is something amiss. That is the only way I am going bare back. I have seen too many young beautiful girls who are HIV positive and I know that guys will do them without a condom because they do not "look" like they have anything. I have heard to many guys say it, she didn't have anything I could tell. This is bad, bad, bad.

i so agree with you, after seeing a 17 old diagnosed hiv posotive, it really made me think. only problem is, it takes 3 months for hiv to show up on a blood test. so to be totally safe you need to have swabs done, and you will need a repeat hiv test 3 months later. thats the only way you will know if someone is totally clear

They have an oral swab now. If it shows positive then they give you the blood test. It is alot more comfortable now to have the test.flowerforyou

here we just do bloods for hiv, sphyillis, and hep b and hep c is necessary. im vaccinated against hep b anyway.

its just a simple blood tests, only takes about a minute.

Yea, I have had all those tests myself too. I am not immunized against Hp B but my kids and grans are.

I had a condom break and went in for all the tests, that is how I know of the oral swab they do now. It comes back while you are in the clinic. It is less stressful then the waiting and wondering.

if you use protection you dont need to worry about your health. its your body, your health, so the decison is down to you.

That's a foolish statement... condoms don't protect you from HPV, and anyone who receives/gives oral is at risk for catching anything and everything.

Condoms do protect against HPV, if used during oral they are complete in their protection. They have classes to teach how to use them even during oral. I have been to them.

I've been told by doctors and have read in health books that condoms do not protect you 100% from HPV or any other STDs... not sure where you got your info from

your wrong. i used to work in a gu clinic, dont make yourself sound like a g.u.m doctor

She is wrong? So you are saying that condoms provide 100% protection from all STDs?

have you read the thread??

I SAID YOU CAN STILL CATCH HERPES, WARTS, EVEN IF YOUR USING A CONDOM, HERPES AND WARTS ARE PASSED ON BY SKIN TO SKIN CONTACT.

Don't be rude. I did read the thread; she said they did not provide 100% protection and you said "you are wrong" and said she was trying to be a doctor. Stop acting like such an expert on everything and let other people question your authority. Ma'am.

the wrong, wasnt about that, the wrong was about the hpv, if you read it properly you will see that.

we can only tell people to be safe by using a condom. yes your at risk of getting worts, herpes etc, but what more can anyone do!!!!!!!!!!!!! so its not a foolish statement, its the only way we can protect ourself as much as we can.

I was simply stating it's foolish to say you don't have to worry about your health if you use protection. You should always be concerned with your health.

Well exactly. I would say the big caveat here is "when used properly" ..no one uses anything 100% properly; plus, stuff happens. as you have found out. So it is foolish to say oh, just use a condom and nothing can happen to you. It helps, it is the best thing we have, but it is not 100%.

this is certainly not an argument against condom use - as I said, I give them to my daughter. It is about the idea that if you use them, nothing bad can happen to you. She shouldn't be giving young people false confidence about these things..it is better to have the facts.
