Not MORE worried, but just as concerned, I think. A crime is a crime. Breaking the law has many levels, yes, but who knows how it all may have played out had you not been arrested.
You may be very kind, jovial, and a sweet spirited intoxicated individual, someone else in the same condition may well get behind the wheel of a vehicle and kill themselves or others. That is the unfortunate truth. Since law enforcement are not soothsayers, they are bound to treat everyone the same. JMHO |

COPS LIKE THEIR AUTHORITY, IF YOU GIVE THEM SH*T THEY TEND TO MAKE YOU AN EXAMPLE TRY TO AVOID THEM

Were you disturbing the peace or just minding your own business and stumbling around and they nabbed you?

Rodney King might not thing so, nor most blacks that get rougher treatment than other races. In my state, blacks make up 12% of the population, but are 37ish% of the prison population, that's kinda disturbing if you think about it. |

i think this depends on what level your drunk and what you did, i went to pick my other half up on friday nite and a guy was walking in the middle of the road putting himself and us in cars in danger, so if it takes them out of the way for a while to sober up fair doos

being from new orleans and spending alot of time on bourbon Street,it is very normal to see public intox.on the street.the cops would only intervine when someone gets out of line.i have been stoppped by the police for them to tell me "hey heres a plastic cup,get rid of the bottle" and he hand me a cup to pour my beer in.i did get a citation for lude conduct(peeing in the parking lot)

Thing is,how can you not be intoxicated in public, cause if you are out in a pub drinking your in public.Unless you stay home everytime you want to knock back a few,you are always in public.so does that mean you either have to give up drinking or get a police escort whenever you go out.And the just in case argument doesn't hold up.Arrrested in case you drive, thats like saying i'm arrested in case i murder someone or i might be a terrorist.

I like the Ron White skit about public intox, he got arrested after getting thrown out of a bar, and told the cops, I wasn't in public until they threw me out into public, I was in private.
If you weren't driving or causing a ruckus, then who cares. I hate beligerent drunks, It gives happy fun loving drunks like me a bad name..... |

Public intox usually has something to do with something you've done to get the cops to notice you. If they enforced public intox strictly, people would have to quit drinking entirely. |

going out and having some drinks isn't the issue. Getting drunk is. When you are drunk many things can happen...fights, getting sick, stepping off the curb in a parking lot when cars are leaving, hurting yourself or others. PI is against the law like it or not. I have been PI in my past and was lucky to have learned from it. But if I had been areested, I'd have no one to blame but myself. No one forced me to get drunk
