They say that the middle class is getting squeezed out. higher cost of goods along with higher taxes.
who is always trying to raise taxes, and who is always trying to lower taxes? of course the real question in there is who can burden the responsibility to say enough is enough? the dems say that raising the taxes on the rich will somehow ease the burden on the poorer. and the republicans say, lowering taxes on everybody(and yes rich included) helps the poorer. but no, some want redistribution of wealth(dems) and some want freedom to earn and grow without penalization(repubs) so who do i think will help the middle class? with 41 percent of my wages going to taxes i think it is reasonable to say which ever party decides to lower my damn taxes- which has been historically the republicans. |

I'm curious, which Presidential candidate do you think will do the most for the middle class and lower income people? Or don't you care or think it makes any difference? You mean which one could have... Kucinich - and he would have went after Bush and Cheney - or Edwards. A ticket with both would have been awesome. You the man!!! |

If they do redistribution of wealth I will actually leave. I am sure many educated people will find jobs over seas if that happens. We didn't bust our buts at school to make the same as everyone else who didnt work for it.

Yup, totally agree. But that doesn't mean i wont vote democrat if there is one with any good beliefs or ideas. Gonna be a while before any politician nominated will have any of these. adj4u Yeah i liked Ron Paul too bro. Maybe i disagreed with some of his ideas but i was impressed with his general beliefs. Cut back on bureaucracy, make things a little simpler to understand, cut back on government overspending, even the part about less government involvment around the world and more focus on us as a country. Even though it goes against my beliefs on Iraq i think people may learn a thing or two real quick about how what we do affects the world. Then again i've always been a sucker for less government control over its citizens. (I do realize it doesn't matter who gets elected president, they have no power over congress and the two pretty much have to agree in order to get anything done) |

We didn't bust our buts at schools to make the same as everyone else he didnt work for it. The gage of a mighty country is not how much wealth and power it has but how it treats it's unfortunate. I did not write that some historical person did but it stands true today. I too believe everyone should be responsible for themselves as far as they can. There are people who cannot care for themselves. Mentally ill, physically disabled, children with no parents to care for them, etc..... How, we that can work, care for these people is the show of our integrity and honor as a country. Not the destruction we reek on other countries or ourselves. |

i wish it were that simple Dragoness. Unfortunately when you take from one and give to another you are generating hate in society. This leads to discrimmination. I agree we should look out for the less fotunate, but without holding their hands. Education is key i think. One of the big reasons our middle class grew so large in the first place was education benefits given to veterans. In many cases they could make more money by going to school than working full time. This encouraged many of them to pursue their education right thru PHD's.

Caring for those who can't care for themselves is different than redistribution of wealth. I will give an example of the later. John and James go to the same high school. John drops out and gets a job as a janitor. James goes to college, majors in pre-med, gets into med school, graduates med school, and becomes a doctor. John and James each make 60k a year. That my friends.. is stupid. |

yes.. commies liked that redistribution of wealth stuff. Its horrible and if it happens in the US I will have to find employment elsewhere, so I hope it doesn't happen.

The Republicans will do the most because they know if you get people off welfare and they become productive members of society. They pay taxes instead of consume taxes and will probably vote Republican.
The Liberal Socialists on the other hand know that the only way they can stay in power is to have a large, poor portion of the population as a voter base. They continually promise the poor everything but give them just enough to keep the loyal. They want a welfare state where the government controls everything. |

That my friends.. is stupid. I don't think that's going to happen no matter who gets in. I think wages right now are unbalanced. The wages of the poor and middle class are not keeping pace with rising prices. I'm not advocating anything communistic like Red China. Wages can be raised for the poor and middle class for a fairer distribution of wealth so that they can pay their bills and maybe even be able to afford health insurance. |

Government mandated wage hikes? I don't think I would like the government telling me I HAVE to pay some guy ten bucks an hour when said guy is only interested in doing the bare minimum in order to get his check. The market can and will regulate wages. It does take effort on the employee's part to move into a higher wage bracket.
