yea man squats do wonders but they hurt like a b*tch. Lift as much weight as you can and always try to do more. Just keep your back arched

legs= squats, run, leg press, part of the thing with legs is you have to take into consideration how much you weigh because your legs are moving that weight all day long, so it should be a good deal more than what you weigh also time is of the essence you've got to be patient with these things my friend if you got any more questions just ask..

i'll give them a try.i like to get advice for other people cause if u ask a personal trainer they think you want to hire them.i've been workin out a month and lost 11 lbs already which i'm proud of,i'm tryin not to weigh myself i don't wanna be like most of the people that weigh themselfs to see if they hit that days goal and get disapointed if they don't

fair warning suicide crawls hurt like a beotch though, and they burn, but they get results

good for you!!! i would say, if you have something like a kitchen countertop to hold on to, stand with your feet parallel to each other, and slowly lift your leg (the one opposite to the hand holding onto the counter). make sure your shoulders and hips are forming a box...this is a variation of a gran bat ma...if u ever took ballet u know what i mean
good luck :) |

Another thing to do not using any weights is something i used in HS for wrestling and now for Muay Thai.... Start in a standing position squat down and in one clean motion using as much leg power as you can muster up push up and jump and land it straight and go back to the squat do this about 20 times non stop and then maybe wrest and do it 20 more times... i'll tell you i hate doing it after i get to about 100 but it helped my thighs and my calves......

i'll give all them a try i'm also kinda limited due to an old knee injury.i can work out but when i try to push off to run it get a feelin like bee's stingin my knee or a hot knife goin through butter as they say but it doesn't stop me for doin my thing at the gym

sometimes it is fight through the pain(granted i'm 16 years younger than you) but, i've had 2 ankle surgeries and 1 knee surgery but i fight through the pain and as strength builds up you'll find the pain lessens, but either rap it or get a mobel brace made for athletic things...

i don't get pain that much only when i try to like push offto start a run,but i put on my mp3 player and do my thing

its the mindset,, pain is mind over matter, if you dont mind it dont matter, when you leg lift over a thousand pounds, your legs will hurt like hell when your done, but look at what it does for you, you have strong takeoffs, harder fire outs, i play football and study diffrent styles of martial arts. and strong legs will help you in the long run

Squats, calf raises and leg presses. Stretching well afterwards to lessen pain and it prevents cramping and fatigue. Leg presses may work better if you have knee pain. With the weights make sure to allow a day of rest in between, but cardio is good everyday.
((Funny for me to being attempting to give advice when I seem to keep coming back on here instead of going to sleep.)) |

another way to get a good leg work out is to buy leg weights, just walk around for 30 minutes or an hour

Get outside and walk!!!
A brisk walk that elevates your heart rate... then hunt for hills, and hill climb... swim, take to the ocean, or a pool, cycle... again hunt for the hills... and remember to 'lock' your abs... |

Something that most of these folks are not telling you about squats. YOU MUST PERFORM THEM CORRECTLY!!!! If not...hey, it's your back and knees paying for the damage. When starting a squat routine you really should get some expert advice at the gym. Either a trainer or someone who has/is training heavily and using squats can help you. This is a compound movement that utilizes virtually every muscle group in the lower body. You can get a very good lower body workout with a squat program but you must do them correctly.
